Mitt and wacky LDS endtimes juju - why does he want more world conflict?
Odd that Mitt is so intent on stoking up tensions with Russia, Iran, etc., and seemingly totally uninterested in resolving the current wars, to the point where he doesn't even mention Afghanistan.
One possible reason is because he thinks Afghanistan is going great and everywhere else should also go KABOOM, because after this sinful world is destroyed by war and conflict, the LDS can rule with Jesus from Missouri for 1000 years. WOOT!
No I am not "bashing" this is what they actually believe and the "latter days" ref means it is happening SOON.
I don't know for the life of me why it's OK to make such a BFD over Rev Wright "scandal" and "secret Muslim" conspiracies and NOBODY brings up these creepy LDS end times beliefs!

1. Why? That's easy
Because like many other groups that "THINK" they are the chosen ones of God, they want the end to come so "they" can take control of things after the Bible prophecies take place. They actually believe that they and they alone will be the ones who are either left alive, or that they will be the ones who take control of worlds power and run things the way "their" religion thinks.
Mitt wants to be the one who bring this about because that is what the Mormons believe will happen, a Mormon becomes president and will "save" the nation and bring about the "end of times"! The Mormons call it the "White Horse prophecy" and you can do a search on the internet to find out all about it. Of course all of these religions that think they are the "chosen ones" will never admit to what they really believe, but their members all know they play a big part in bringing the "end of times" into play.
Liberals don't believe in God...
...liberals believe they ARE gods.
That is why every disagreement with them is cast in moral terms, i.e. hate, bigotry, sexism.
And they believe they can excommunicate anyone or anything they disapprove of.

No wonder he mocks environmentalism -- why worry about pollution and climate change when you WANT the earth to go under so Jesus can show up and magically make it all perfect?

6. Absolute Drivel
Isnt it strange how people outside an organization often seem to think that they have some sort of privileged "inside track" that allows them to have a better and clearer understanding of an organization than the people that are actually involved in it??
I came across this thread by accident. I dont live in the US and have no interest whatsoever in US politics. But I have to comment on this because I am pretty outraged by the utter tripe you people seem to so easily accept as facts about the LDS church.
One of the other threads on here I think is called "Do liberals too easily accept the truthfulness of the sex charges against Assange?" - or suchlike
I think that this thread should be called "Do liberals to easily accept so called facts about the LDS church they are fed to them by the media and other "christian" churches?"
I have attended the Church of Jesus Chrost of Latter-day Saints for all of my adult life - over 30 years. I have never heard such complete and utter drivel in all my life.
If the best that you democrats can do to keep Romney at bay is to attempt to demonize him by repeating such "facts", then you are pretty sad and pathetic lot and you rightly deserve Obama to lose.
Note that I didnt say deserve Romney to win. Because I dont live in the US I really dont know (and I simply dont care) if Obama is or isnt the best man to run America. Its none of my business.
Someone once said there is nothing more painful to behold than ignorance in action. There certainly seems to be an abundant supply of bigotry and ignorance in this thread. I suggest you restrict your discussions here to things that you actually do know something about - such as your politics - which is something I cant comment on at all.

OK liberals, I get it: Mormonism is a myth; but it is far less dangerous than the myth of "liberal tolerance."
We are told that Republicans are the party of the wealthy. Then it stands to reason that the more wealth there is in America the more the GOP can expand its voting base. In contrast, Democrats insist they are the party of the oppressed and impoverished...

Mormons believe in Jesus as the son of the Christian God. muslims are heathens.
Big difference.
