He claims he deleted the guy's name in order not to "publicly humilate him":

Very disheartening exchange on Facebook with a family member...
I post a lot of political discussions on Facebook, and generally I get very positive feedback. But this exchange, with a brother-in-law, really bummed me out. I deleted his name (because I am not looking to publicly humiliate him). Here's a graphic of the exchange...

I think he's trolling for more "likes".

21. Exactly...

... BTW, I followed up with a rather snarky status update that read as follows:

I have been duly reprimanded. From now on, I'll post nothing that is any more substantive than what I ate for lunch.

He stole that from nadin.

I gotta admit I get tired of the political crap on facebook too. My lib friends are normally the most egregious offenders too. I don't know what it is; it's that they are incredibly demeaning and insulting when they post their opinions. There is an arrogance about them that seems to assume all their friends are dyed in the wool dumbasses like they are. I think that arrogance, lack of humility, and tone irritates me about them the most. Occasionally I give them a nudge and remind them with my own opinion that they have someone they consider a friend who is conservative. If they get nasty, I point out to them they aren't quite the open-minded, inclusive individual they think they are by their very exclusion of a conservative opinion. In my mind, I often wonder how a handful of my friends have never seemed to develop mentally beyond about age 16. How can you still hold some of the opinions some of them do when you are in your 40's? It blows my mind really. A commonality I have found though for those that get 'stuck' in that phase are: single or never having had children(includes most gays--the ones who somehow 'have' children actually seem more conservative and/or living in a liberal enclave/bubble where they have had no exposure to others ways of life or opinion. Without a doubt the majority of my liberal friends(contrary to what they think) are some of the most unsophisticated people on the planet. Even if they are well-traveled, they have rarely interacted with people out of their own comfort zone of thought.

He stole that from nadin.

That's the saddest thing I've ever read on so many levels.

The country would be so much more pleasant if we brought back dueling.

I think the corollary to that would be:

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.

I've got a pretty good political discussion going right now with an old high school buddy. Any of you who are my friends are free to view it. I think he's throwing in the towel. LOL

If you don't want to talk politics on FB don't start the discussion. This friend made a mistake.

I had a HS friend post an anti gun rant after the Aurora shootings with a link to a petition. I respectively declined to support it as did several others. A couple agreed. She camee back and conceeded we had the right to feel that way as did she. No one blocked anyone. No one name called. No one spat venom. No death threats or foul language was exchanged. DUmmies would have been mystified. She's a full blown Boston democrat too, poor thing doesn't knows any better.   :-)

I agree. Most of my liberal friends just make shit up to try and fit in with their other lib friends.

Republicans are racists, narrow minded, tell women what they can do with their bodies, bigots, and hate homosexuals....yada, yada, yada....

One friend posted "I've never worked a day in my life"- Ann Romney

I responded that any stay at home mom, or stay at home dad has a full time job!

They responded "give me a break, she is not a stay at home mom...."

WTF?

I make it easy. I have no Democrats on FB. I neither want nor need their friendship. Their philosophy is one of theft. I'd no more befriend a Prog than I would an armed robber or burglar.

Democrats are no longer Americans. Anyone that supports a fool that stated his goal was to "fundamentally change" the United States is an enemy of the state to me. Think about that. "fundamentally change". I.e. change our fundamentals as a nation, the same fundamentals that made this nation a destination of immigrants seeking a better life from all over the globe. Sorry, but **** a Prog. If they all dropped dead tomorrow I would not shed one damn tear.
