SO...

My husband and I went and saw The Expendables 2 this evening. We came home and found THIS:

If you had just seen E2, your husband should have been so full of testosterone that a mere glare would have killed it. :-)

Seriously, that's a big sucker. How'd you get rid of it?

It was between 4-5 inches. We left it alone and in the morning it was gone. It's probably hiding in one of my plants and going to jump on me the next time I walk by.   :panic:

My husband showed me a picture he took last night, he was much braver as he got a lot closer.

By the way E2 was campy, violent as hell and funny. I really liked it. I loved how Chuck Norris kept popping up everywhere out of no where.

I remember, on one of the field exercises I was on when I was with 3d ACR, one of the lower EMs daring me to lay down and have a tarantula on me.  I said, "Why not?"  One of the Spec4s that I trusted put this thing on my chest.  It crawled up towards my face . . . and then I saw the fangs on that thing.  My next words were along the lines of, "Get this ****ing thing off of me NOW!"

Can't tell fer positive but I think this is what you are up against.

Personally, I think you need to nuke your neighborhood from orbit...

Just kidding...from what I understand they are pretty shy, sorta like a brown recluse. O-)

I loved it. Better than the first. All the innuendos were great. And I, too, loved Chuck popping up. The scene with him and the team talking in the town was great.

Tarantulas are people too.

The proper way to handle a tarantula.

1) take off your shoes.
2) stand barefoot in the lawn.
3) throw rocks at it.

Sure it will chase you. But you're faster, right?

One of nephews out here in Tucson will pick them up and have them crawl all over him - arms, chest, neck---------[shudder.]

The proper way to deal with a live tarantula is to make it a dead tarantula.

Sledge hammers work just fine.

Meanwhile, I will just continue with small screams.

And Friends and neighbors and.............. yeah Cpl. Hicks said it right. "We should take of now and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."

Wow I don't know what I would have done. I have held one before and always kinda wanted one as a pet. I do know for a fact if Mrcc had seen it it would be a pet right now.

Yet kinda makes you wonder if you see one, how many others are there? Sorry BEG.  Now that would freak me out. 1 pet spider is way different than the whole family living in the garden and house.

But, think of it this way--they'd keep some 'undesirable' insects away.

Damn right, we don't!!  Scorpions either!

Good grief, I'd truly have a heart attack if I saw either one . . .

Had to kill a spider last night about the size of a half dollar. Used a bit of Raid on it . The weird thing is it still tried to crawl after it flipped over on its back. I was thinking it was time to get the 9mm and waste it when it finally passed on.
