Occupy RNC ends in tears, frustration

By Zach Gorelick

August 31, 2012

TAMPA, Fla. — Republican National Convention protesters sobbed in each other’s arms as their weeklong series of protests came to an abrupt and unremarkable end.

As Mitt Romney delivered his remarks at the RNC on Thursday night, marking the end of planned events, demonstrators living in the “Romneyville” protest camp led a final march through the streets of Tampa.

Following a fragmented march against the GOP, TheDC’s photo team spoke to several protesters who said they were disappointed by low turnout at protests and the lack of open discussion between protesters and Republican leadership.

Referencing the large number of bicycle-based police officers, a protester named Lash told TheDC, “we can see liberty crumbling on bikes.”

Lash, 26, described himself as a “conservative” and “a member of the Libertarian Party for six years” as he sobbed on the shoulder of Mike, a fellow protester.

Sounds like "Lash" needed "the lash" when he was growing up, eh? :zap:

I would like to have seen some OWS'ers getting their heads bashed in, but alas, it didn't happen. I am sure something will happen next week. I am seeing visions of 1968 in my head.

If only.

What would the "Republican leadership" have to talk about with that bunch of idjits?

Liberty? Crumbling on bikes?

WTF?

Is Liberty on the bikes? Are the bikes crumbling?

Sobbing on Mike's shoulder =/= conservative or Libertarian.

Sobbing on Mike's shoulder = pure emo = liberal

Men don't sob.

I think I speak for all of America when I say:

"There was an Occupy RNC?"

Not really.  I am amazed and thrilled that their "worldwide" movement has come to such a pitiful end.  Sobbed indeed.

Hmmm. Occupy has been defined as hippies demanding people do what the hippies tell them to do...but the Hippies themselves will not lift a finger to bring about the change they desire. They are willing to march, beat drums, and play at twinkles...but seem surprised when no one feels compelled to capitulate to their demands.
