At least 10 people shot overnight; 82 killed or injured in last week
At least 10 people were wounded in shootings throughout the city – mainly on the South Side – Thursday night and Friday morning. Since last Thursday, at least 82 people have been wounded or killed in shootings in Chicago.
The most violent shooting overnight occurred at 12:48 a.m. in the 100 block of East 60th Street in the Washington Park neighborhood. Police said five men -- all in their 20s -- were standing outside when a white vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire.

This must be an example of those Chicago values Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod hold so highly.

82 wounded....does Obamacare provide target practice for the burtha's in the hood? The hospital expenses of 82 wounded are unacceptable.

Wow. That is crazy. They do need some Chick Fil A values in that city!

100 block of East 60th Street
I took a look at the area on google maps. It is all a run down trash hole. It looks like one of the worst sections of cook county. It looks like the city took all their trash and dumped it on that one spot (kinda like Jersey City, New Jersey).
I mean, there are projects, and empty lots and empty buildings, and trash everywhere. And here I thought McKeesport was bad.

The south side if I remember correctly is pretty bad.
I took a wrong turn once and I never seen so many cars on cement blocks.
When I worked for the old IL Bell/Ameritech there were some neighborhoods repairmen were not allowed to go into alone.

Chicago Republican party calls for Emanuel to cancel DNC speech.
I didn't even know there was a Chicago republican party...there was little semblance of one when I was living in the city.

How many people are in the Chicago Republican Party? Two? Three?

I was an election judge in 2004 there. They were thrilled to get anyone to sign up as a republican election judge.

That tells me not too many then. I wonder what Al Capone was politically?

You should see Mckeesport and Duquesne in Pittsburgh then. They are some pretty rough neighborhoods. Every time you see on the news about a crime. 9 times out of 10 it is from one of those two areas.
Duquesne doesn't have all paved roads. There are still a lot ot brick roads. And the houses are run down, but most have cadillacs sitting out front. I think we can all guess where they got the money for those. I find it funny because they care about the look of their car more than the look of their house.

I don't know about Chicago, but Philadelphia is so desperate for candidates it agreed to run Arlen Specter, (a democrat who could not get the democrat's support) on the Republican ticket for DA in 1965 as a registered Democrat. After he won he became a registered Republican.
So he was always a democrat at heart.
