Title: No wonder the libs are furious at the Ryan speech
Post by: SSG Snuggle Bunny on August 30, 2012, 08:07:55 AM
He indicts everything they aspire to on life:

Quote
College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life. Everyone who feels stuck in the Obama economy is right to focus on the here and now. And I hope you understand this too, if you’re feeling left out or passed by: You have not failed, your leaders have failed you. None of us have to settle for the best this administration offers – a dull, adventureless journey from one entitlement to the next, a government-planned life, a country where everything is free but us. Listen to the way we’re spoken to already, as if everyone is stuck in some class or station in life, victims of circumstances beyond our control, with government there to help us cope with our fate.

Ace writes (and I heartily concur):

Quote
I know I'll catch hell for this, but the election is over. This week Romney/Ryan will move ahead in the polls and they will not relinquish that lead, save for the occasional outlier. Polls will tighten and widen; but from this moment forward, the preference cascade begins.

From his and your keyboards to God's ears.  Let's see the Democrats try to retort.

Granted, they'll TRY, but they won't do a very good job of it.

ETA:

From his and your keyboards to God's long ears.

Let's not get sacrilegious, pal.

I adore this entire paragraph, so I c/p'd it, just to make me happy.   :-)  I also liked that sly shout-out to Julia.  That particular propaganda piece really stuck in my craw.

Rush was saying that the "fading Obama poster" made Obama seem old, tired, sooo yesterday.  Unhip, uncool, decrepit old man.   He's right.

Here are a couple comments from Ace's excellent review:

Quote
The thing that really sells Ryan is you know you can leave him alone with your wallet and not worry one bit about it.

Quote
Young people can look at him, and then look at the senile old fart Joe Biden, and say, "My God, is EVERYONE in the democratic party an old man?" And the answer is YES. Even the women are senile old men.

I'm overseas and couldn't watch it live. Instead, I read the comments this morning on Ace and HotAir that were written as the speech transpired. When Ryan hit the faded Obama posters line, the comments exploded.

Quote
Looking forward to Joe Biden's speech on 'Pie--Why I Like It.'

The only man I haven't considering screwing? Paul Ryan.

People -

Ryan's speech is a renewable resource. It's not a one-and-done.

The difference is that Ryan can take the central ideas he presented and recombine them in new and interesting ways while he's in front of an audience.

Obama can't without saying "ah, ur" about 30 times.

Biden can't without peeing himself.

Well, just a sample.  I've been trying to not be like a DUmmie, keeping myself in a hive/bubble (although Cave is my home base).  I've been wandering to sites where right and left mix.  The comments from donks and libs are so stupid and childish they give me a headache.  They repeat themselves as if it's going to help.  They insult people as if that will win them over.  Ace's readers all have such good, thoughtful comments.  What a relief.

That speech last night was one of the best, and truthful I have heard in a long time. I can not wait to vote for Romney/Ryan in November.

I, too, look for the polls to show Romney getting ahead and not looking behind him.
