Gun control laws work at keeping guns away from criminals, don't they?

You're not a snitch to Rahm, maybe, but your neighbors and 'Associates' probably have a completely different take on that.

I kind of sees Rahm's point in this though. At some point, the people living in these crime areas have got to band together against the gangs and take their neighborhoods back from the thugs.

As far as communities coming together to take back their neighborhoods, how? If they have stricter laws, they'll be the ones getting locked up.

Illinois doesn't have any legal carry laws.
As for taking their neighborhoods back, it starts with standing up, demanding more police in the area and getting people to cooperate with the police.

But they won't. They have been taken care of for so long they have no idea how to do anything for themselves. Besides there is no way they are going to oppose the government massa.

Why does Rahm care? He told the gang bangers to stop targeting the kids... so they are targeting other people now. They were only following the directions of their mayor.

And that is exactly the way the Dem machine has kept them, since it does its best to deny them any means of force for self-protection, and it would take a police presence equivalent to military occupation troops with checkpoints every other block to enforce the kind of security it would take to keep anyone who did snitch alive.
The whole banding together and standing up to the criminals only works when the criminals actually have some kind of limits they won't exceed.

I thought that some city had tried setting up checkpoints in some liberal haven, but they were accused of profiling and had to shut them down. DC or Chicago?

I found it. DC police had set up checkpoints in some violence prone neighborhoods, but they were ruled unconstitutional.

The anti-snitch mindset is firmly ingrained in the culture. No amount of pleading from one Rahm Emmanuel is going to change that. He's in way over his head. I don't know what the answer is. Even the parents are volunteering to be the driver to go whack some guy.
