Major earthquake hits off coast of El Salvador
(CNN) -- A powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck off the coast of El Salvador late Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported
The epicenter of the quake was about 177 kilometers (110 miles) southeast of the capital, San Salvador, and took place nearly 33 miles underground.
Some minor shaking was reported. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

El Salvador literally dodged a bullet there. THANKS whoever that this was a DEEP quake. A shallow one would have done all kinds of damage.
This is yet another lesson on Richter scale is not all there is to a quake. Direction of waves, frequency, and yes, depth, play a critical role. (As well as the substrate you sit on)
Been up a while. No primitives at it yet.
Posted as a public service for members of conservativecave living in El Salvador, by the way.

El Salvador literally dodged a bullet there.
How did El Salvador literally dodge a bullet? Did someone shoot at El Salvador? Did it move out of the way at the last second?
Why in the Hell is Nads not hitching a ride on the first burro out of San Diego, to report the breaking story of how someone shot at El Salvador?
Maybe literally dodged a bullet means something different in Mexico.

The oblate spheroid's sure taking her good time about going down into Ensenada to get a story there.
<<wants to hear what's happening in Ensenada, not this other junk.

She hasn't yet discussed how these quakes are influenced by rampant capitalist carbon emissions, or even worse, fracking.

It's not crunchy enough and she can't cross that rubicon to get there

I do not understand the writing style that includes answering an unasked question from an imaginary friend
...frequency, and yes, depth, play...
Does she hear a voice that asks something and she responds with a 'yes' or 'no'?
This sort of thing can be found in many of her posts, usually in the 'crunchy news' OP, and elsewhere from time to time.

Quote from nadin...
"THANKS whoever that this was a DEEP quake."
It's so difficult to say "Thank God".

On an arc, even.

My wife thanks me whenever she has a deep quake.......
:-)

There may be some confusion about the nadinspeak term "crunchy".
During her periodic snits, which always include some kind of implied Goodbye Cruel World threat and once included a self-imposed exile to Crazy Andrea's place, "crunchy" has a specific meaning.
According to nutcase nadin, crunchy news items are satisfying but without substance. They are porous, lightweight, unimportant but popular.
Vitally important stuff, like a brushfire somewhere in the SoCal desert, or a seismograph squiggle, is solid, chewy, heavy, important, substantial.
Important stuff isn't crunchy, but it always brings out gangs of bullies to harrass the crazy bald dwarf.
So from time to time the dwarf limits us to crunchy fluff, until someone begs her to resume posting lifesaving bulletins.

Literally, I don't think that word means what you think it does.
Literally and amazing are two words that demonstrate you are talking with a moron. By moron I mean democrat.
