The Pukes will pound at the 8% unemployment, The President should point out 92% are still working.
The republican convention will be all about being negative and moving back wards our convention will be about hope and moving forward. Positive verses their negative. Peace verses another War, Liberty verses restriction, love verses hate, understanding verses greed ,and Jesus verse Ann Rand, feel free to add your own thoughts.
Peace.

6. Tell that to those of us that can't...
... even get interviews anymore. Oh and BTW...
Do you have any idea of what the real, non doctored, chronic unemployment and under-employment numbers actually are?
Is it Obama's fault? Hell no, but it sure isn't a "winning issue" for him.
Yeah it's Bush's fault. :mental:
Talk about voting against your own self interests. Lord they are stupid.

14. 8% my ass! The U-6 # in some states is over 20%
The numbers in some cases are startling.
Consider: Nevada's U-6 rate is 22.1 percent, up from just 7.6 percent in 2007. Economically troubled California has a 20.3 percent real rate, while Rhode Island is at 18.3 percent, more than double its 8.3 percent rate in 2007.
Those numbers compare especially unfavorably to the national rate, high in itself at 14.9 percent though off its record peak of 17.2 percent in October 2009.

Unemployment is a LOSING issue right now
Leftstreet has probably killed this thread.

Amazing how honesty will do that to a DUmp thread.

I might be working but my wages are not the same as when Bush or even Clinton were in office.
Suck it DUmmies.

Even if they were, you would have a much harder time stretching it out in this economy. I am making more now than I did then, but every extra penny is offset by higher gas prices, higher food prices, and higher prices for everything under the sun.

Ditto.

But Obama said before putting us another trillion in debt that the stimulus would keep unemployment below 8%. Suck that DUmmies.
They should start going by the real numbers, and not the fudged numbers that suit their own interests. In reality, the unemployment is around 15% nationally. It is worse than it was with Bush. That, DUmmies, is Barry's fault.

This is stupid on so many levels. Starting with the impossibility that the other 92% of the American population could be employed.
-
It's "only" 8.4 percent because the administration has tried and used every trick in the book to keep the number down.
But face the hard fact, DUmmies, that in 2008 we had 304 million in the US. Today we have 316 million. Yet in 2008 we had over a million more people in the workforce. In reality, if we had the same workforce participation rate that we did in 2008, the U-3 rate would be around 12-13 percent, not 8.4.
Suck it, DUmmies.

I went from a job paying 22.00/hr to a (barely) minimum wage waitress job.

If they want to play that game, then we can say that during the Bush years over 95% of the people were working.

... feel free to add your own thoughts.
"You're an idiot" was the first thing that came to mind. And pretty much the second and third thoughts, too. In summary, I'd say you're an idiot.

Isn't it, though?
Do you have any idea of what the real, non doctored, chronic unemployment and under-employment numbers actually are?
Gee. Even the idiots don't trust the figures produced by the government......they......want......more.....of. :whistling:

Oh look, unemployment was pretty steady right up until the Demonrats took over congress, but it actually started going up after the November elections. It's almost like corporations new Dems would enact policies unfavorable to business.

July 2004
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/empsit_08062004.pdf
The civilian labor force averaged just over 147 million in the three-month period prior with unemployed accounting for 8.2 million of that number.
July 2008
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/empsit_08012008.pdf
The civilian labor force averaged about 154.5 million, with unemployed accounting for about 8.5 million of those.
July 2012
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/empsit_08032012.pdf
The civilian labor force averaged about 155 million, with unemployed accounting for about 12.8 million of those.
Notice anything strange about that, kids?
Civilian labor force in the last four years is FLAT, despite the population of the US increasing by some 10-12 million. That means the workforce participation is declining sharply. Had the civilian workforce increased at the same rate as 2004-08, we SHOULD be seeing a civilian workforce in excess of 162 million, and if unemployment was in the 5-6 percent range with the same workforce participation rate, you'd see maybe 7-8 million unemployed, not 13 million.
SCOAMF indeed.

What always annoyed me when Bush was president was that when the news ( radio, tv, print ) would mention the unemployment rate they would toss out 4 or 5 point what ever then immediately say "with real unemployment at.....".
I almost NEVER hear that phrase anymore since Obambi got in.

Then there were the nightly body counts in Iraq, the stories of how people who were unemployed were suffering, and how high gas prices were killing the economy.
Today any war deaths is second page news, they put out stories how being unemployed was good for people, and how poor 0bama has no control over gas prices until they fall a little then his brilliance caused that, then not a word when they go back up.
Yep we are crazy for saying the media is biased. :-)
-
I remember MSNBC having the ticker with the counts on there screen daily. When gas was $3.00 a gallon, the libs were all crying fowl and screaming that it was all Bush's fault. Now that Captain Zero is President, they say there is no way the President can effect the gas prices. Of course that will change when Romney is elected.

And curiously, since people actually started losing their homes, there aren't any more feature stories about an epidemic of homelessness.
