it going to be hateapalooza? I'm pretty sure there's no way to keep the hate and racism of the tea party under wraps for that long. Of course, the MSM will aid the repubs in trying to cover it up, but still boozed up haters are going to vocalize their hate. They actually have given Donald Trump a platform. I expect some ugly stuff to come out- not that that's bad for dems, even if if it is bad for the country.

What do you think? Can the repubs avoid the convention looking like a hatefest?

Well I expect you idiots to say that it is a hate fest, I expect you to claim that all kinds of words are code words and dog whistles, I expect a lot of whining and crying, in other words just another day at DU.

Code word: cut spending

Code word: we don't want a dependent society

Code word: food stamp president (even though more white people are on food stamps)

If you want hate, look no further than outside the convention, and to the protestors.

Oh now, dear cali's out of sorts today.

I recall very well the most hate-filled national convention being that of the Democrats in 1992.

I saw this on television; remember, I can't hear and so I'm describing only what I saw.

Then-governor Robert Casey (D-Pennsylvania) was trying to offer a pro-life amendment to something.  Since Democrats tend to be anti-life, it wasn't going to make it anyway; his point being making it a matter of record that all Democrats aren't anti-life.

He couldn't even get it up for a vote; he was shouted down.

The cameraman kept focusing on the Democrats shouting it down; close-up shots of women screaming obscenities at the governor, their faces distorted and uglified by their rage and hate.  A whole lot of really angry cursing ugly cows with faces that would terrify even the Devil Himself.

It wasn't pretty.

I'd never seen anything like it before, or since.
