Title: Green Bay Packers 2012 Season Thread
Post by: Revolution on August 25, 2012, 02:07:17 PM
Since Sparky created his team thread, I figured I'd copy cat. I also thought it's be nice to have two season threads for two of the best teams in the NFL right now. So Packer fans, have at it.

I liked Benson against Cincy on Thursday. He'll lock up the starting position. However, Starks may not lock up 2nd string. He's too sporadic, and injury prone. I don't like him. Although, I see real good potential in that #24. Tyler What'shisface. What say all of you?

One week, boys, and girls. One week until the Packers domination of the NFC begins again. :yahoo:

We REALLY need to work on our penalties. Disappointing. The refs didn't help, but I tack that up to having only a little experience so far. The a-hole union refs can make those mistakes too. San Fran is a good team. We still have Defensive issues. I was very impressed with Cobb, and James Jones today, though.

Must trudge on to Thursday Night. :censored: the Bears!!

While a loss is always disappointing, I don't think they Pack looks too bad. They just don't feel like they've gelled yet. I hope they do it by Thursday.

Don't blame it on penalties. The Cowboys were penalized 13 times for 86 yards and still beat the defending Super Bowl champion New Your Giants 24-17.

They just got outplayed.

Clay Matthews earned me 39.5! He's freaking amazing. This kind of wipes out last week's loss.  :-) On to Seattle on the 24th. Russell Wilson gets to meet Matthews, Woodson, and the crew. 2-1, here we come.

GO PACK GO!

I hope they can continue the great defense they played against Da Bears all season.

Cedric Benson actually contributed which is a big plus.

The Packers are one of the two best teams in the NFL?

Their pass defense was the worst in NFL history last year and was exposed again by a weak QB in Smith, and I am a niner fan.

I like Green Bay though and would love to attend a game there someday.  Every time I have met GB fans they have been super-cool, unlike the fans of the poopie team across the Bay....Oakland.

I hope that the Cal guy does good.

Doesn't matter. 15-1. All I need as a counter argument.

No I understand. The 9ers were 15-1 once and went to and won the Super Bowl.

But if you are happy getting knocked out in the first round, that is great.

I do have to admit that when it comes to the NFC, the Packers are one of the best. But they will never be as great, over all, as the Steelers.  :-)

Knocked out by the Superbowl Champs? I'm find with that. 2nd isn't as good, but I'll take it for last year. Still first in wins. We need a bit of improvement. At CB, at RB, (but we got it with Benson for now) and I'd say at DE. It's a slow process, but make no mistake, my friend. You're looking at an NFL Dynasty, and we haven't even fully addressed those positions.

Seahawks don't have much of a chance either. Whether our former Badgers QB, or our former backup in Green Bay, they're going down. *evil laugh*

The Packers got jobbed.  The NFL must come to terms with the REAL referees

No. The real refs must come to terms with the NFL. The sons of bitches need to stop listening to union THUGS like DeMaurice Smith, and Kevin Mawae. DAMMIT, this sucks? And the TD called for Seattle was offensive pass interference!!! These refs don't cut it! Legit refs....sit down and NEGOTIATE instead of standing firm with your union thug buddies, dammit!!!

Some of you said this kind of shit would cost a game eventually, and I decided to give the sub refs the benefit of the doubt. Not anymore..

The NFLPA, and people like I listed above are ruining football!! :censored:

In other news: The players are starting to complain about the incompetents of the fill in refs.

The Packer players, and former players exploded on Twitter last night. There will most likely be fines handed out to the current players.

Speaking of Twitter, and stupid:

Wis. Gov. Scott Walker may be changing his stance on the rights of unions. He may also voice his support for #nfl referees union. #Packers

Someone with the name "Bears" in their name commenting about the Packers...smart.  :whatever:

Isn't It Ironic?: Gov. Scott Walker can blame the Greedy NFL Owners & their Union Busting practices for the GB Packers losing tonights game.

That ain't who he blames, DUmmie, and it isn't who I blame. (For more on that, visit my GBP thread)

Hey Scott Walker and Paul Ryan - congrats on the union busting! Just Torpedoed your Packers and the whole NFL. Well done.

Right. It would cost 60,000/year/team for 5 years to bring the real refs back but it is the "evil" unions.

The avarice of NFL owners knows no bounds. Extorting taxpayers for hundreds of billions of dollars for stadiums but 60 g's equates to bad, bad unions.

On a somewhat lighter note:

NBC26 in Green Bay made fun of the Packers-Seahawks debacle by using a "replacement weatherguy" to give viewers the forecast yesterday.

I heard Dilfer and Young lauding Rodgers effusively and, at least this season I don't see it.

They were saying that Rodgers is better than Montana.  I defer to them for their experience, but in my OPINION Rodgers isn't cracking the top 25 let alone better than Montana.

Rodgers is WAY too young to put in any historical terms right now, he could end up as the greatest of all time or he could get injured tomorrow never play again and be a very tiny foot note

Texans are struggling. We just need to keep going. If McCarthy goes to that "prevent (a win) defense," I'm going to travel up to GB, and kick him in his hind quarters.

Houston just shot themselves in the foot though with that Connor Barwin leap onto our offensive lineman's back.

Being a Houstonian, that was a tough game to watch; but I learned a long time ago not to ever jump on or off the bandwagon of your team and my team is the Packers.

The game meant way more to the Packers; the Texans are still a great team if they beat the Gay-vens next week then they'll be sitting pretty in the AFC playoff picture.

GO PACK GO.....GO PACK GO!
