Listened to someone trying to explain why we should have voter ID today, guess what, he failed

It was information coming from the likes of faux news. He thought everyone had picture ID, ask him what ID does those who do not drive have, no answer. Ask him about those who live in nursing homes and he told me they had ID's in the nursing home in order to be there. Those are not government issued ID's. Also ask what proof was there voter fraud had occurred, no answer. I also told him of the republican ads my dead stepson who never registered to vote and died in 1988 and probably was "voting" somewhere. I also ask him what would prevent one from going county to county with an address in the county and obtaining an ID. ID's is not going to fix the problem which lies in the minds of republicans.

I have worked the voting polls as a clerk, in Texas one has to sign the voters list and can only be signed one time. Many in this discussion did not know about the provisional ballots which should be afforded by those not on the voter records. This is republican hype and apparently they are confusing the minds of their followers.

I would ask you why are you so hellbent on not protecting the rights of the voter by making sure that the actual voter gets to vote?

1. You should have pointed out the one case of voter fraud that has been documented.

Guy lives in California but registers to vote from his son's unfinished basement in Massachusetts. In addition, it is unclear which state of the four in which he has owned property, he paid state income taxes in.

This is true Republican voter fraud.

Honey, just because it was posted at DU does not mean it is documented, it is just another hairbrained idea you goons dreamed up to smear Romney.

2. Simply ask him where in the Constitution it says you need an ID to vote...

Where in the Constitution does it say you need an ID, a background check, and to pay fees to own a gun?

3. Nice job. Don't forget that it would take 10's of thousands of people committing fraud...

... to move an election 1% even in a small-population state.

After Romney wins I will look to see if Scuba still believes that. Odds are he will ride the election fraud train that DU is known for when they lose.

Dont forget that it takes just one fraudulent voter to nullify my (or your) legitimate vote.

Once again , why are none of you primitives bitching about Rhode Island's new voter ID law ? "Voter suppression" is bad regardless of the party in control, right ?

That's what you all seem to say anyway....

Well, Maybe you aren't aware of it. I'm not surprised, as nobody is reporting it. Google is your friend, primitives.

A small slice of voter fraud in Philadelphia;

Quote
In the 1970s in U.S. v. Cianciulli, the Justice Department prosecuted 25 defendants for using "false addresses" to register in Philadelphia. Many of the defendants "had never lived in, and in many cases had never set foot in, the residences" where they were registered. One couple voted in both Philadelphia and New Jersey. Having to produce Pennsylvania driver's licenses with their actual address could have prevented the fraud committed in this case.

Its nothing new. First thing I thought of were all of the chemical warheads found in Iraq. Since the mustard gas had partially degraded, and each device could only kill hundreds instead of thousands, they didn't count as WMDs anymore.

So, apparently, if its 'old' or 'old news', it doesn't matter... Unless the news can be regarded as damaging to a Republican, then it does matter.

Examples:

Obama and his crew driving around aimlessly, on a quest for 'choom' instead of being a productive member of society? Doesn't matter.

Mitt Romney gives someone a haircut ? ZOMG !!!!111!!!!!!

Obama eats a dog? Doesn't matter.

Romney puts his dog on the car roof in a specially constructed kennel, complete with windshield ? ANIMAL ABUSER !!!!!!

Al Franken only needed a couple hundred of illegally voting felons to win his election in 2008.

In WI the dems won control of the state senate because poll workers were giving regular ballots instead of provisional ones to people who registered to vote that day. Some used mail addressed to "occupant" as proof of residency.

Let's see....there's that case in Mississippi recently where an ACORN member was arrested for perpetrating voter fraud....

A local case where an organization was bullying elderly people into getting into a van and goin to vote, some of them not in the best of health...

There's more than just one example of voter fraud that DUmmy claims.

People can get state IDs if they don't drive. How else can they get their government checks cashed?

I already get to vote twice.

I fill out the sample ballot for my mother.

 :lmao:

She actually is pretty informed.

This is the first year she was registerd to vote in Nevada. The last two years she was really sick, and the two years prior I did not want to stir up feelings of my late father. They used to go vote together. But I was able to get her signed up this year and she voted in our primary! She was pretty happy to do so! She went to early voting alone and sent me a text message saying "I just voted." She is 71 years young.

I was pretty ****ing proud.  :yahoo:

Where in the constitution does it say you have a right to vote?

The framers of the Constitution would have been aghast at the idea of deadbeats, criminals, and the rest of the democrat base being allowed to vote.

You can't even see a doctor without a govt issued picture ID in most cases. Many prescription medications also require an ID to pick them up and even some over the counter medications, including the morning after pill!

Our DMV gives you both a state ID and a DL. They tell you to use the state ID for everything other then driving.
Every freaking doctor I see makes a photo copy of my state ID and insurance card for my medical record.

Right here in the tenth amendment:

Quote
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

This means that if a state wants to pass a law that requires an ID to vote, it has every right to do so.

Let me add to the list, Utica, NY.  Massive voter fraud scandal.

Why are the DUmmies suddenly jumping on the meme "there is no voter fraud."  This is has cropped up as of late.  How does this jibe with "Stolen elections!!!"   :panic:   I'm not understanding them.  And why aren't they up in arms over new laws requiring doctors and dentists to obtain your ID first, before you even sit down in the waiting room?

DUmmies, if you'd get out of the hive, you'd find out you're losing whatever stupid argument this was.  In modern society, you simply need picture ID to function.  Everyone knows this and expects it.  It is not a cumbersome burden for a halfway responsible citizen.
