whoopi, it is not rape rape. atkins "legitimate rape" . forceful rape. Ron Paul's quote about "honest rape."
"We have forgotten that before we began calling this date rape and date fraud, we called it exciting." -- Warren Farrell
we all know what these ****ers are saying. per a discussion on du. there was a study where 39% of college girls had at one time said no, when really they meant yes. so of course the conversation devolves to.... see, some girls, what do you expect from us guys.
Raven has a thread...
Unless you have one, shut the **** up!
i will not listen to another single man tell me what i need to do. whether on my side or not on my side.

Only a DUmp democrat could be this stupid.
Any democrat with at least a double-digit IQ, including the jug-eared muslim, is ecstatic.

How on earth could we stoop so low to send this terrible Todd Akin person to the Senate--that would be worse than sending a klansman or someone who left a young woman to die of suffocation in a car at the bottom of a pond.

There was a woman on a plane. We'll call her seabeyond.
Well into the flight the pilot broadcast over the intercom that there were some serious engine problems and that the plane was going to crash. The passengers all slipped into stunned silence. Seabeyond, sitting near the front of the plane, started remembering all that she hadn't done in her life. Finally she stood up in the aisle next to her seat and yelled, "If I'm going to die I want to feel like a woman! Is there any man on this plane that can make me feel like a woman before we crash?!?" All the passengers intently watched seabeyond to see what would happen next.
After a moment that seemed like forever a man at the rear of the plane stepped into the aisle. He was tall. Dark skinned. Long flowing hair. He had muscles on top of muscles. Seabeyond's heart fluttered when her eyes hit him. Even more so as he slowly begin walking toward. As he walked he was slowly unbuttoning his tailor made shirt. When he was within about five feet of seabeyond he unbuttoned the last button and removed his shirt.
He stood before her, shirt in hand, with his chiseled muscles glistening beneath the overhead lights. Seabeyond sighed. The gentleman stepped closer until they were face to face. Seabeyond looked up and down his athletic frame and felt a tingling inside that she had never felt before. With a quivering voice she asked him, "so will you make me feel like a woman before we die?" The man shrugged his shoulders and said, "sure. If that's what you really want." Seabeyond, with eager anticipation, answered, "it really is what I want. Really, really, I want it.". The man smiled, tossed her his shirt and said, "iron my shirt, bitch!"

That does put it into a very palpable context.

Whats the over-under on when someone on DU announces that the purpose of the Akin controversy is to distract America away from "Rmoney's" missteps, and his missing tax returns ?

It's also taking the abominable owebuma economy issue off the table. Nevertheless, you bring up an interesting point.

Not gonna happen. The left is too busy trying to tie Akins to Romney and the GOP in general. He is their distraction to keep Obama's economy and jobs record from being discussed.

Of course it is - But DU probably doesn't understand that.
-
It might have worked as a distraction but by noon today or maybe a little later the news was reporting that senior republicans including Karl Rove and Mitt Romney were asking Atkins to leave the race.

Wasn't Bill Clinton accused of a legitimate rape? What did SeaBeyond feel about that?

Yes, Juanita Broaddrick had a very detailed, and compelling story accusing clinnochio of raping her. She had the advantage of telling a friend contemporary with the time she alleges. Her story was so believable, and consistent over the years, many distinguished people have come to believe the accusations are completely true. If she was the only woman making sexual harassment or molestation charges against clinnochio, there would be no pattern of abuse to further incriminate him. But his record shows innumerable similar instances right up to and including his presidency. But, being a lib, and America's first black president, all his misogyny was always instantly and completely forgiven by the lib/dem/socialists.
Every time a lib says certain bad behavior is no big deal, I always challenge them by saying, well hey, if there's nothing wrong with doing it once, then there should be nothing wrong with repeating the behavior multiple times.
-
Of course it is - But DU probably doesn't understand that.
I don't even hazard a guess about what (D)U actually understands.

As a guy with some experience prosecuting sexual assault cases, let me just say that anyone who thinks every allegation of rape is true is an idiot. Of course we know seabeyond is an idiot, but whatever. The majority of the claims are legitimate, of course, and initially all victims, of any crime, are entitled to have their complaint heard with compassion and the presumption they are telling the truth. Many, many times, though, there turns out to be a lot more to the story and an ulterior motive involved, like the victim making the claim to cover up for some misdeed of her own, advantage in an on-going dispute like custody, or even revenge.
Probably one of the things in the back of Akin's mind, which it would have been much better to just shut up about entirely, was the fact that if rape and incest were the only reasons an abortion could be had, there would naturally be a big increase in claims of rape with 'unknown perps' by 'victims' who decline decline to cooperate beyond getting the abortion (As well as a certain small number of alleged perps who are actually innocent and end up wrongly convicted), and then clam up and won't testify once the abortion is out of the way. This requirement, after all, adds a motive to lie for people who want a voluntary abortion, and yes, a lot of people are that low. But, trying to parse fake claims of rape from real claims of forcible or duress rape is a distinction that can't possibly survive the media spin machine, and it was incredibly foolhardy to even try to go down that road in public comments.

My wife who volunteered for years at a rape crisis center told me this is much ado about nothing. Legitimate rape is a phrase often used by the counselors among themselves to discern those who were violently and forcible raped versus those who where suffering buyer's remorse. Often the one claiming rape would later admit that she got drunk and went to far with someone she would rather not have slept with... (i.e. she never said no). In the morning she considered herself raped because with out the alcohol she never would have been in that position. She is not to be confused with the woman who some guy plied with liquor just to get in her pants. This is a woman who willingly got drunk and got horny. This is just one of many scenarios of unlegitiment rape.
Besides wasn't it the libs who started classifying types of rape (date rape, acquaintance rape, spousal rape, etc)? The fact that they are all of a sudden complaining about the categorization of rape rings a bit hollow in my ears.

Hey Sea Hag, You're a liar. You and the rest of your ilk give less than a damn about what he said. It's just the fact that a Republican said it and you figure it can be used for political fodder. DUmmies just want to stand around an bitch about dumb shit, while the country is going down the drain.

I appreciate DAT's last post, and perspective on the issue.

It amazes me that they get so mad over one response from republican, but yet don't say a word over the continuous stupid responses that Crazy Joe says. Typical, hypocrites, childish, immature, whining, two faced, babies, every one of them...

What happens when she is in the emergency room sucking up Obamacare and the doctor is a man and she needs healthcare?
Any straight female on DU would be lucky to have a man sleep with them, I doubt any of them need to worry about rape.

After seeing some of their pics, you would have to be one desperate soul to even consider it. They are so ugly that a dog wouldn't hump their leg.

Even if one was attractive, the sex would turn into a political discussion about equal rights in bed or some crazy shit. :lmao:

The problem with maturity is it is only accurately judged by one with a relatively higher maturity level. This makes libs immune from that criticism.

It would more than likely end up like that. Or the woman would probably think that any sex is rape.

Isn't that truth. For a group who claims to be smarter, more mature, and more civil. They desperately lack those qualities.

Yes, a very prominent "feminist". And she wasn't alone...
Feminism is built on believing women's accounts of sexual use and abuse by men." -- Catharine MacKinnon
"All sex, even consensual sex between a married couple, is an act of violence perpetrated against a woman." Catherine MacKinnon
"All men are rapists and that's all they are" -- Marilyn French Author, "The Women's Room" (quoted again in People Magazine) "All men are rapists and that's all they are ..." --Feminist Marilyn French, People Magazine (Percent of reported rape or near-rape incidents = .07% [The FBI's Uniform Crime Report lists for the year 1996])
"[Rape] is nothing more or less than a conscious process of intimidation by which ALL MEN KEEP ALL WOMEN IN A STATE OF FEAR" [emphasis added] -- Susan Brownmiller (Against Our Will p. 6)
"Marriage as an institution developed from rape as a practice. Rape, originally defined as abduction, became marriage by capture. Marriage meant the taking was to extend in time, to be not only use of but possession of, or ownership." -- Andrea Dworkin.
"Heterosexual intercourse is the pure, formalized expression of contempt for women's bodies." -- Andrea Dworkin
"Romance is rape embellished with meaningful looks." Andrea Dworkin in the Philadelphia Inquirer, May 21, 1995..
"Under patriarchy, no woman is safe to live her life, or to love, or to mother children. Under patriarchy, every woman is a victim, past, present, and future. Under patriarchy, every woman's daughter is a victim, past, present, and future. Under patriarchy, every woman's son is her potential betrayer and also the inevitable rapist or exploiter of another woman," Andrea Dworkin, Liberty, p.58..
"One can know everything and still be unable to accept the fact that sex and murder are fused in the male consciousness, so that the one without the imminent possibly of the other is unthinkable and impossible." Andrea Dworkin, Letters from a War Zone, p. 21..
"In every century, there are a handful of writers who help the human race to evolve. Andrea is one of them."--Gloria Steinem
"And if the professional rapist is to be separated from the average dominant heterosexual [male], it may be mainly a quantitative difference." -- Susan Griffin "Rape: The All-American Crime"
(p. 86)
"When a woman reaches orgasm with a man she is only collaborating with the patriarchal system, eroticizing her own oppression..." -- Sheila Jeffrys
"I claim that rape exists any time sexual intercourse occurs when it has not been initiated by the woman, out of her own genuine affection and desire." -- Robin Morgan, "Theory and Practice: Pornography and Rape" in "Going to Far," 1974.
"Who cares how men feel or what they do or whether they suffer? They have had over 2000 years to dominate and made a complete hash of it. Now it is our turn. My only comment to men is, if you don't like it, bad luck - and if you get in my way I'll run you down." -- Letter to the Editor: "Women's Turn to Dominate" -- Signed: Liberated Women, Boronia -- Herald-Sun, Melbourne, Australia - 9 February 1996
Toward a Feminist Theory of the State. Catharine A. MacKinnon, 1989, First Harvard University Press (paperback in 1991) [a legal treatise comparing and contrasting feminism with COMMUNISM AND SOCIALISM]
"It is not only men convicted of rape who believe that the only thing they did that was different from what men do all the time is get caught."
"If sexuality is central to women's definition and forced sex is central to sexuality, rape is indigenous, not exceptional, to women's social condition."
"Under law, rape is a sex crime that is not regarded as a crime when it looks like sex. The law, speaking generally, defines rape as intercourse with force or coercion and without consent., Like sexuality under male supremacy, this definition assumes the sadomasochistic definition of sex: intercourse with force or coercion can be or become consensual."
"Compare victims' reports of rape with women's reports of sex. They look a lot alike....[T]he major distinction between intercourse (normal) and rape (abnormal) is that the normal happens so often that one cannot get anyone to see anything wrong with it." Catherine MacKinnon, quoted in Christina Hoff Sommers, "Hard-Line Feminists Guilty of Ms.-Representation," Wall Street Journal, November 7, 1991.
"The institution of sexual intercourse is anti-feminist" -- Ti-Grace Atkinson "Amazon Odyssey" (p. 86)
"In a patriarchal society all heterosexual intercourse is rape because women, as a group, are not strong enough to give meaningful consent." Catherine MacKinnon in Professing Feminism: Cautionary Tales from the Strange World of Women's Studies, p. 129..
"[Acquaintance rape] is more common than left-handedness, alcoholism and heart attacks." Naomi Wolf, The Beauty Myth (in the feminist attempt to build a case that "one in four" women have been raped in America.)
"[R]ape represents an extreme behavior, but one that is on a continuum with normal male behavior within the culture." Prof. Mary Koss of Kent State University (1982)
"Men who are unjustly accused of rape can sometimes gain from the experience." Catherine Comins, Vassar College Assistant Dean of Student Life in Time, June 3, 1991, p. 52..
As cited in Andrea Dworkin's "Right-Wing Women" "...I submit that any sexual intercourse between a free man and a human being he owns or controls is rape." -- Alice Walker in "Embracing the Dark and the Light," Essence, July 1982. (Feminists believe that marriage = ownership).
"I feel that 'man-hating' is an honorable and viable political act, that the oppressed have a right to class-hatred against the class that is oppressing them." -- Robin Morgan, (editor of MS magazine)
A young woman at the University of Pennsylvania who wore a short skirt complained of a "mini-rape" because a young man walked past her and said, "Nice legs." (Camille Paglia and Christine Hoff Sommers, "Has Feminism Gone Too Far?" Think Tank with Ben Wattenberg, Produced by New River Media, Washington, DC, November 4, 1994.)
"Female heterosexuality is not a biological drive or an individual women's erotic attraction or attachment to another human animal which happens to be male. Female heterosexuality is a set of social institutions and practices... Those definitions... are about the oppression and exploitation of women [by men]." Marilyn Frye, Willful Virgin: Essays in Feminism, 1976-1992 ( Freedom: Crossing Press,1992) p.132.
[Author comment] And finally, a very disturbing account of the lengths feminists are allowed to go to in our educational institutions in order to vilify and demonize young men.
At the University of Maryland, some female students posted the names of male students selected at random, young men about whom they knew nothing, under the heading "Potential Rapists." The message was that all men are potential rapists, though the men actually named probably did not find much comfort in that... (John Leo, "De-escalating the gender war" U.S. News and World Report, April 18,1994, p.24.)

Hey Dworkin -
Your new "pal" in the afterlife, Satan, has a message for you.
He says "Shaddup an make me a sammich, bitch."
-That is all.
