Title: poll: most memorable primitive
Post by: franksolich on August 20, 2012, 09:28:24 PM
This is a very limited poll; only two options, no others.

From the earliest days of Skins's island, say circa eleven years ago, the Bostonian Drunkard quickly established himself as the most-memorable primitive, the one that came to mind whenever one saw the word "DUmmie."

Since Fitzmas of May 2006, though, the Bostonian Drunkard's been read less, quoted less, and noticed considerably less, than he used to be.  But it's not necessary to bring him on center stage; everybody knows he's there, knows what he's thinking; his presence is unerasable, and permanent, as if a malevolent shadow hanging over Skins's island.

There's been other primitives trying to shoulder the Bostonian Drunkard out of the way, but none have succeeded.

Until, maybe, now.

Twenty years from now, which primitive is one going to be more likely to remember?

I have to give it to the Pitstain, nadin is a rookie at online liberal "journalism".

To me, memorable implies history.  nadin, like an annoying case of athlete's foot, just won't go away.

Who, other than William Rivers Pitt, has pinpointed with such drunken laser-like focus, the start of the third phase of the American Empire?

Imagine how far the Caesars could have gone if only William Rivers Pitt had been there to advise them on their empire?

Nadin will only be remembered while she is still raving and is in constant danger of having her doctor adjust her meds and by stabilizing her thus de-fame her.

Pied Piper Pitt is, without doubt, the Babe Ruth of DUmmieland, the all-time all-star. His peak, though, was in 2005, 2006. He was white-hot then. Now, the last couple of years, he has been kinda . . . meh. Know-it-all Nadin has tried to fill the void, and she's had her moments, but it's just not the same.

Does nads have a hill of ancient pig crap named after her?

No.  The choice is easy on this one.

Back before the "24 business hours" thing, he was pretty well worshiped on Skin's Island.  After that, banking on it, it became pretty clear that William Rivers Pitt was a laughing stock among the Internet's laughing stock.

Pitt is so yesterday! His moment was fleeting and he's barely noticed by the primitives anymore either. Of course they're both "writers" & "journalists" so maybe nads is one of Pitt's alternate personalities.

Game, set, and match.  H5 for reading my mind.

Difficult choice between two prominent national writers/journalists.

After careful little thought, it would be William Rivers Pitt.

I'm going to choose Pitt only because of that photoshop that Charles posted on one of his DUmmie Funnies; that of Will sitting at a bar, blah blah blahing away at the face palm guy.  Just too funny, I'll always remember it.

After thinking about it (and taking the appropriate headache meds   :-) ) I have to go with the pig-shit primative, William Rivers Pitt.

I just got off the phone with Jason Leopold

who clarified something for me that is pretty damned important. In his article, he said:

"During the course of that meeting, Fitzgerald served attorneys for former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove with an indictment charging the embattled White House official with perjury and lying to investigators related to his role in the CIA leak case, and instructed one of the attorneys to tell Rove that he has 24 hours to get his affairs in order, high level sources with direct knowledge of the meeting said Saturday morning."

In point of fact, those 24 hours are "business hours," i.e. starting on Monday.

"Jeez, Jason," I said, "we might want to put that into the essay. Half the planet thought 24 hours was 24 hours. They thought the deal would go down today."

To be fair, a dozen eyes looked at that article yesterday before we published it, mine included, and none of us caught that. The word "business" has been inserted into the story after "hours" where it belongs:

So. Monday at the very earliest, but more like Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'm going to go take a nap and then go get drunk with some friends tonight. Dan's brother Ken, the airline pilot and all-around wild-man, is in town for the weekend. Gonna be the Linwood Cafe, and their Mojo from the nitrogen tap, and then around again to our usual gathering spot.

I'd repeat everything I've said about Jason's multiple independent sources, about how the MSMs failure to pick this up sounds more like more of the same old shit than anything ominous, about how no hard paper or announcements or anything will come until, at a minimum, the government re-opens for business on Monday...but I've written it all already.

The truth will out. It always does.

Later, gators.

I had to go with the Pittster.  If only for the fact that he's more likely than Nads to be on a sex offender registry, 20 years from now. :loser:

Well, nadin is building a tremendous legacy, and won't soon be forgotten. She's easily been the cream of the lunatics for the past couple of years.

TomInTib was the most amazing DUmmy Of The Year ever. I doubt we'll ever see the equal of his eloquent lunacy.

Pam Dawson was very entertaining and held a lot of promise until stricken by gut rot and, like Lou Gehrig, her career was cut tragically short.

Poor stupid Beth is in the running for having spawned the Andyscam saga. It was the DUmp's most memorable episode, but poor stupid Beth shared the stage with a host of co-stars.

The winner, by an eyelash, is DUmmy Will Pitt. His Fitzmas catastrophe was spectacular, but don't forget the other Pitt classics, like his Midnight Cowboy costume, his panicky brush with pedophilia, the jawdropping unattractiveness of his wedding, and his hilarious meddling in the Andyscam.

DUmmy Pitt's "bootheel cat" post was probably the single best comment in DUmp history.
No post before or since has done more to illustrate the special brand of crazy hate that forms the backbone of the DUmp.

I have only been here long enough to become familiar with nadin, and have only heard of Pitt in passing.

Great lead-in to the Pittster.

As an added bonus, we've had the privilege to become acquainted with the person who spawned him.

I swore I would never vote for Sir William the Pittiful for anything again, - however, this poll demands an exception.

Nads is nothing more than a wannabe and a know-it-all - and even though Pitt is well past his sell-by date, he actually did make a tiny little dent in the world.

Wee Willy's greatness was a flash in the pan.
Gnads will continue burning like a frontier campfire fueled by dry buffalo chips. (Smelling the same, BTW)
