Ryan Not Exactly a Cash Cow for Romney

NEWSER) – The Romney campaign would like you to believe that picking Paul Ryan as the VP candidate has resulted in a flurry of enthusiastic donations to his cause. The campaign today announced that Romney has raised $10,157,947 online since unveiling his running mate, Politico reports. But Alexander Abad-Santos writes in The Atlantic that if you take a cursory look at the math, that "bump" looks kinda lame.

Romney and the RNC raised around $100 million last month, he explains, which averages to about $3 million per day. So raising $10 million over Ryan's six days on the trail actually represents a slowdown. When John McCain unveiled Sarah Palin, they hit $10 million in half that time. Still, there is one silver lining: Some 68% of the online donors in the past six days have been newcomers, which could indicate that people are excited about Ryan even if they're not giving much. Full analysis here.

They're right about Ryan not being a "cash cow" for Romney.  Obama, on the other hand, has been.   :-)

A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, the libs used to talk about the anointed one amassing 1 billion in campaign contributions. The crowds swarming around owebuma consist mostly of flies now.

Didn't I hear somewhere that The latest fundraiser is the idea that folks should send to the Obama campaign what they were going to spend on school supplies?

Yep, next week it will be send in just one of your Social Security monthly checks. Then, what you spend on a week of groceries. Moochelle says the children are all fat, how about sending in your kid's lunch money for a month.

The racists just are not generous enough with the money their Messiah lets them keep.
