A new study suggests eating egg yolks can accelerate heart disease almost as much as smoking.
The study published online in the journal Atherosclerosis found eating egg yolks regularly increases plaque buildup about two-thirds as much as smoking does. Specifically, patients who ate three or more yolks a week showed significantly more plaque than those who ate two or less yolks per week.
It may seem harsh to compare smoking with eating egg yolks, but lead study author Dr. David Spence says researchers needed a way to put it into perspective since both eating cholesterol and smoking increase cardiovascular risks - but the general public believes smoking is far worse for your health.

So eggs are bad again? Wait a few months. They'll go back to being good for you.
-
But I don't smoke.
How often does the average person eat eggs? I eat maybe one a month.

I must be on the low end of the scale then. I wonder who the person at the top is? I hope they have their own chickens.

I have a co-worker that talked about his wife making him bacon and eggs every day before work!

Eggs from my chickens are a lot different from the eggs bought in the store. From what I read free range eggs have much less bad cholesterol and more good. Last visit to the Dr showed my bad going down and I eat a lot of eggs.

I first heard about this new egg study on Fox & Friends, that is why I looked it up and posted it.
But they have doctors that can read scripts like any other place.
I pay close attention to my blood work and my numbers are in the very safe range. But now when I look at an egg, I see a cigarette. :censored:

Well I think I'm allright since I never try to smoke eggs.
-
I grew up eating eggs... I'm perfectly healthy. :)
I wanted scrambled eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner as a child. My grandma made the best scrambled eggs ever! I still eat them when I go back to visit. :)

You can't trust eggsperts.

Then I think you should go ahead and eat them. And you shouldn't see a cig every time you look at an egg. I'm so sick of these studies that show good one week, bad the next. Eggs are always bearing the brunt. Everything in moderation, and keep in mind we're not designed to live a million years.
I really don't know how they can consider these controlled scientific experiments, with the millions of variables that go on inside the human body, including genetic propensity for certain ailments.

I ate a 3 egg omlet this morning just before I smoked another cigarette.
I'm still feeling fine.
:panic:

This whole thing cracks me up. More troops of the food police.
I'll eat as many eggs as I want to, thank you.

Sorry comrade, that'll be a $5000 fine and your vote in November will be cancelled.

I cook my eggs (usually just egg whites) in organic coconut oil...

I eat mine with buttered toast. Runny yolks and toast... I could eat that three times a day.
