Indian Women Told: Cover Up or Face Acid Attack
(Newser) – A radical Islamic group in India has promised to kill or maim women who go unveiled or use cell phones in the open, the Telegraph reports. A note posted on mosques in the state of Kashmir warned that "if we spot any woman without purdah we will sprinkle acid on her face," and "if we spot any girl using mobile phone, she will be shot dead." The note was signed by al-Qaeda Mujahideen and mentioned an affiliated group, Lashkar e al-Qaeda.
The threat comes as India grows more concerned about acid attacks on women, which are already common in neighboring Pakistan. But "women in Kashmir are more empowered than women from other conflict zones," says an analyst. "There have been campaigns to force women to wear veil but it didn’t sustain for long.†A police official fears that local militants are trying to recruit members with the campaign: "We have cases of militants trying to engaging boys of 12," he says.

Would anyone still like to discuss how veiling and bikinis are totally completely exactly alike, and we shouldn't focus so much on just one of them? I'm angry enough right now. Go ahead.
Why? WHY?? What kind of mindset does a person have that sees throwing acid on a person as OK? What exactly is it that is so ****ing offensive about a woman that she must wear a damn tent or die? Do these people not have mothers or sisters or daughters? I don't understand it.

I think Christian men are becoming more oppressive because they expect Jesus to show up soon. Are Islamic groups expecting some sort of religious occurrence, or is it because the oppression of women is a unifying factor for men?

There is a reason that, whenever I think about where I would be happy/willing to live in the world, that many places are off of my list because I'm a woman. And yes, I know many men who would also refuse to willing live in a society like this.

That same DUmmy also makes it look like this is some new thng for Muslims. It's not.
Muslims have long been deathly opposed to granting women literally any kind of freedom, and they have long loved using acid to maim "Rebellious" women and girls, and to torture their prisoners/ hostages.
When people (Usually ignorant atheists whose knowledge of religion is limited to what a couple TV shows have taught them) try to claim that Islam, Christianity and Islam are all really the same deep down, I'd point out one major difference: Christianity and Judaism have both evolved enough over the millennia that they can easily adapt to and assimilate into modern, civilized society (i.e. They offer more freedom towards women and get along better with those of different beliefs than they did 1000 years ago); Islam, in contrast, has not. In fact, not only does Islam refuse to evolve and adapt to modern society, they actually take the opposite approach; They demand that the rest of the world, especially the Western world, bend over backwards to accomodate them and their backwards, outdated, and often dangerous beliefs, out of fear of being openly accused of racism if they don't cater to Muslims' every whim. That's why atrocities like this hapen so often in Muslim soceties today; It's the same way they acted 1000 years ago, they're just using different tools now.

I think India is mostly a Hindu nation and if they go around doing that crap the blowback is going to be mighty harsh the fist time they attack some woman that's not of the Islamic faith. And if they don't do something The Sikhs will.

Oh give me a break , the Muslim faith is all about SEX. , Asian and Latinos that convert are not doing it to save their souls, they want Nookie here on earth and in after life. why do you think we have the black Muslims in the USA, most of the converts are from Christianity and the whites want Nookie here on earth and forever after.
No one converts for spiritual reasons, The odd reason a woman of any other faith that converts is now open to the head shrinks.----------OOPS sorry if I offended Obamas Mother but ---Just what the hell did she get out of it ? Just what the hell does any female get out of converting to Muslim ?

It's not about that. It;s about who is in real control of India and what will be done about women being assaulted in the streets.
