Oh my.
It's a lazy Sunday evening, nothing going on, and Skins's island about as amusing as a cemetery.
But the DUmpster needs stocked with inventory.
Since franksolich is currently awaiting the Oregonian primitives who are ostensibly camping out on the river this week--no sign of them all day--I got a little nostalgic for a couple of years ago, when primitives from Oklahoma camped there over the Labor Day holiday.
And I ran across this, from December 2011:

DU3 Cooking & Baking is missing a VERY important ingredient...
hippywife!
Come home, good [sic] lady. The forum is not the same without your keen wit, culinary wisdom and dancing chicken.
The hippywife primitive was of course Mrs. Alfred Packer, the inspiration behind many of franksolich's literary works of fiction. She'd actually left Skins's island some months before, around the time one of franksolich's tales of the adventures of the Packer clan appeared here on conservativecave.
The hippyhubby primitive Wild Bill, who was of a snarly and possessive and greedy nature, ordered her to delete her account on Skins's island, as he was jealous of all the time she spent with the primitives, and not with him.

1. Yes, please, please come home, Hippywife!
I've been missing her a lot these past weeks, too

2. Alas...
She is gone from DU...banned several months ago. I am so sorry to have to tell you...
I cannot imagine what she could have done...

3. Oh dear.
I checked her status a few weeks ago when I first started wondering about her and it was still "live." (I guess it was more than a few weeks ago.)
This makes me so sad.

4. I hear you...
I looked back via search, and it seems that her last postings were in June.
I have her address since I bought some of her gorgeous earrings, and I sent her a note. I haven't heard back just yet...I hope I will...

6. If/when you do, please give her my regards.
It must have been quite an aberration from her normal demeanor around that got her TS'ed. Maybe DU3 will have an amnesty period? She's someone that surely deserves another chance.

7. I called and left a message earlier today
I cannot imagne what such a kind [sic] soul could have done to be banned.

8. I'm so glad you did that!
If you get to talk to her, would you ask her if she got my note? I really do want to hear from her...
I'm sure she 's busy with Christmas...
*sigh*

9. I will.

11. Sounds silly for HW to have been banned.
That's just weird.

12. I'm wondering if she requested it.
Those dopes at the slacker web site were incredibly cruel to such a good [sic] soul.

15. What did she say to get banned? I don't know her but I sure wouldn't want to say something wrong and get banned.

16. For the record, her account was terminated at her own* request. She did nothing to get banned from the site.
*at hippyhubby Wild Bill's demand, really.
A jealous man, hippyhubby Wild Bill.

17. Thanks for letting us know,
(Must have happened while I was away this summer, I guess.)
I do hope she'll reconsider and rejoin us on DU3.

19. I thought that might be the case.
Who could possibly be offended by her, she is amazing.
Dear sweet kind-hearted Lu obviously never knew Mrs. Alfred Packer.

Wild Bill finally had a cannibalistic craving so strong he dispatched her.
After trimming away the fat, he had enough lean meat left for one medium-sized crockpot dinner.
She disappeared amidst a few little red potatoes, sliced carrots, and some celery.

You know, this kind of bothers me, that it takes the primitives s-o-o-o-o long to notice the absence of one of their numbers.
I recall this very well--but first, one has to remember that Mrs. Alfred Packer was a daily habitue of the cooking and baking forum; she was there every day, and posted every day.
The CalPig is correct; Mrs. Alfred Packer's last post was in June of 2011.
This was shortly after "Mrs. Alfred Packer does Memorial Day" came out.
About three or four weeks later, I became concerned because I wasn't seeing Mrs. Alfred Packer around, and I was writing "Mrs. Alfred Packer does the 4th of July." But I managed to write that anyway, despite the absence of her inspiration.
Come time to do "Mrs. Alfred Packer does Labor Day," she'd been absent for almost three months, and the well of inspiration was running dry......however, I managed to complete that saga of the Packer clan too.
By October, I began to panic; Mrs. Alfred Packer wasn't around, and I was losing my creative juices. I had big plans to write "A primitive Christmas Carol," with Mrs. Alfred Packer as Ebenezer Scrooge and franksolich as each of the three Ghosts of Christmas--it was probably destined to be the greatest in the saga of the Packer clan, but alas Mrs. Alfred Packer wasn't around to feed the inspiration.
And so that story never got done, and posted.
Okay, here's what bothers me--but first, one has to remember that Mrs. Alfred Packer was a daily habitue of the cooking and baking forum; she was there every day, and posted every day.
Mrs. Alfred Packer left the first part of June 2011, after hippyhubby Wild Bill told her to cut it out, or else.
The cooking and baking primitives finally noticed she was gone in.....December 2011.
And here, franksolich had noticed her absence six months before that.
What is it about the primitives that it takes them six months to notice one of their own is missing?
I think it's because the primitives are so self-centered, so selfish, so preoccupied with themselves, so narcissistic, that they don't, really, pay any attention to other primitives, only to themselves.
Now I'm beginning to wonder if Pedro Picasso, the Atman primitive, is aware yet that his pal, his neighbor, the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive Chief S itting Bull, died.....last December.
Probably not, because Pedro Picasso looks only at himself.
