Anyone else appalled that the Spice Girls will be performing at the Closing Ceremony????
Yeesh! Let's just hope this is something NBC cuts.

No. Well kind of. But they're better than known pervert George Michael.
DUmmies can find the littlest things to be offended by. It's no wonder they are always miserable.

5 women that were successful together, and have been even more so as individuals....
and DUmmies complain.
wow. :thatsright:
Thought they were all about women doing well professionally. Maybe it's because The Spice Girls have been too successful as individuals. :whistling:

Does anybody remember who the good-looking blonde was, who did the honors at the Republican National Convention of 1980?
It was on television, and so I wasn't paying much attention.
She looked sort of vaguely like Farah Fawcett-Majors (who wasn't a star yet), but it wasn't her.

Geri Hallwell?
That name doesn't sound familiar.
I saw her name flash across the screen at the time, and remembered it for years, and then forgot it.

She's the only one I remember who looked sort of like Farrah Fawcett.

At the 1980 Republican National Convention, there were a whole lot of stars, and not just the old stand-bys such as John Wayne or George Murphy (I dunno if either was still alive then), but newer and much younger Hollywood celebrities. I think Tom Selleck was one of them, but don't hold me to that.
Anyway, this was a woman, a singer (and perhaps an actress too), whose name at the time I sort of recognized.....and if I knew that much about her, that means she was probably reasonably famous in the hearing world.

I have found that Susan Anton, Eddie Rabbitt, and Jimmy Stewart were there in 1980.

As was Elizabeth Taylor.
I think "Susan Anton" might be it.

Taylor was still married to Senator Warner then?

Yep.
That was during that very short time in her life when she had class.
