Miracle-Gro Package: "if not satisfied return empty package" for refund. PLEASE join me DU in...

Dear DU Members,

It is not every day that the right wingers give us an opportunity to band together, show unity, and do what we can to get coorporate money out of politics. The owner of Scott's Miracle Gro just gave $200,000 to a pro-Romney super pac. Money that he has made because the American people bought his product.

Well, on the side of my 5 lb plastic tub of Miracle-Gro it says this: "SATISFACTION GUARANTEED OR YOUR MONEY BACK If you are not satisfied, return the empty package to: Scotts Miracle-Gro Products, Inc. PO Box 606, Marysville, Ohio 43040".

Please, DU, join me. Today I mixed up the entire box and gave my flowerbeds their last dosing of Miracle-Gro, then I wrote "I am not satisfied" on the package, labeled it and affixed postage. I am returning it to Miracle-Gro because I am EXTREMELY UNSATISFIED with the company. The package does not say what terms my dissatisfaction stems from: just whether or not I am satisfied with my purchase from them. I am not. I am extremely offended that a company I that I have been doing business with has taken my money and given a portion of it to a political cause that is repressing votes, denying civil rights to gays, trying to privatize education, medicaid and social security.

Scotts Miracle-Gro owes me a refund and an apology.

Please join me in spreading the word that Scotts will give you back your money if dissatisfied. Please return your empty packages.

Please help to teach coorporate American that if they don't support the people, the people won't support them.

I'll even ask for a few kicks and recs to help keep this up and to get the word out!!

Yep all 12 of you will show them.  :rotf:

15. This is really dishonest

And really does not reflect my values as a liberal democrat. If you can live with yourself by doing this, knock yourself out.

16. What is dishonest about saying I am not satisfied with my dealings

with the company? I am not saying their product is bad, I am saying their business model is. Their package does not ask if I it is the product or the experience i am unhappy with. I wrote on the package I was very unhappy with their decision to enter into politics and that I was not satisfied with my business transaction with them.

I am not satisfied. As I used their product I was very upset that the money I had paid to them was used to support a group that is 100% against my civil rights to marry my partner. I feel betrayed because I have used their product long term.

Their choice has poisoned me on their product, I am ashamed to use it, I feel very bad that I have been supporting their company, I worry they have been giving money all along to groups that hate me and overall I feel used very bad about my purchase from them. Would you call that satisfied? I don't.

19. You bought a product

Until you heard about the political donations, you were satisfied with how the product performed. Now you want to return it. That is the dishonest part. I guess lack of ethics dwells on both sides of the aisle.

A refund, AND a "do-over" of 2008.

So, the primitives who cant stop complaining about Romney's mythical tax fraud have no problem performing genuine fraud themselves... Im sure if you look reeeealy hard at your monitor, you can see the look of surprise on my face.

Is this going to be like the Starbucks appreciation day that they tried to do to rival Chick Fil A and the Starbucks 1 fizzled?

Go To Starbucks Tomorrow! Important!

I never thought I'd say that--I detest overpriced lattes consumed by slacking hipsters--but the pro-Starbucks day planned for tomorrow is intended as a show of support for a chain store that's backed same-sex marital rights.

Gay activists have cooked this up as a counter assault on the Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day, which brought out swarms of rabid conservatives hiding behind their "patriotism" and "freedom of speech" as they loudly endorsed the right of an establishment to back anti-gay rhetoric.

Starbucks Appreciation Day Isn't Percolating Much

Yesterday I urged you to go to a Starbucks today to show support for a place that's pro-same-sex marriage.

It pained me to beg people to patronize a business that's gentrified formerly interesting neighborhoods with overpriced lattes.

But they have positive views on this particular topic, and a rally of support was important as a rebuke to the dummos who lined up to support Chick- Fil-A as flag-waving patriots for being so brave as to feel gays don't deserve equal rights.

Well, I went to the Starbucks on Astor Place a little while ago and there were people there, but it wasn't swarming.

There were about 18 gay-positive coffee lovers on line--a decent amount--and 40-50 folks scattered throughout the establishment.

But it didn't feel like a happening.

It was OK, but it was hardly Chick Fil-A-MAZING.

GObamaGo, aside from his taste in political candidates, seems a fairly decent sort. What is he or she doing at the DUmp?

I might go buy some more Scott's products just for S&G's.

Might shoot them a note telling them to keep up the good work.

Or, maybe I'll just use the product and not politicize it.

Hey, life is so much simpler when you're not burdened by the ethics you demand of others.

Quite profound. So compact and concise, I envy that it is not my post.

Come on how many of the DUches have the scratch to buy a big box of Miracle Gro?

I have nothing but good things to say for Miracle Gro. Greens my whole yard and all the plants kick ass on growth. Right now is a haven for fauna.

Just more proof of whatever a big-gov leftist accuses you of going to do, they have already done. The ends justify the means for these people. I hate to say it but if we do not adopt these same tactics it is game over for the good guys. These people have no morals, no ethics, and don't expect them to.

14. Home Depot donated heavily to W's campaign.

I have to drive a bit farther, and deal with employees who are less friendly, but I now give almost 100% my business to Lowe's.

I wonder if DUmbass Shinola realizes Lowe's is a SPONSOR of Rick Hendrick's NASCAR team, the #48 car of Jimmie Johnson.

I deal with Lowe's all the time, and their employees have been nothing but friendly to me.  Plus, a lot of their prices are lower than Home Depot.

I go to HD before Lowe's, chiefly because HD is on my side of US 9 . . . actually, it's the only reason I go to HD.  If something pans out here soon, I'll have to check out the Ace Hardware that's not too far away.

If this DUmmie doesn't have about 5,000 square feet of flowerbeds, he's going to be very dissatisfied with the results of putting 5 pounds of Miracle-Gro on them. Might as well have applied a 5 lb box of salt to his flowerbeds.
