Papa John’s becomes latest boycott target after opposing Obamacare; class warfare ensues
http://twitchy.com/2012/08/09/papa-johns-becomes-latest-boycott-target-after-opposing-obamacare-class-warfare-ensues/
First Chick-Fil-A and now Papa John's is a target of boycott for opposing Obamacare.
-
Look for Pappa John's profits to soar.....
-
We ordered from them earlier this week.
-
Better intelligence. Better insight. Papa John's.
-
Has Papa Johns been added to the master list of companies the DUmmies are forbidden to patronize?
-
I love following @iowahawkblog...
First Chick-fil-A, now Papa John's. With luck, we can eventually get lefties to boycott food altogether.
Cutting and pasting on an iPad is a pain in the ass.
-
Posts from idiots on their FB page have already been pretty vicious.

Are you saying Papa John is playing the DUmmies? I think so too. They may start teaching this in business school...how to start a liberal (who have no money anyway) boycott.

That is exactly what I am thinking. I feel that Chick-Fil-A invented something without trying. That is the best way to make huge profits. All you have to do is say something that enrages the liberals, forcing them to boycott you, which in turn will cause profits to go up.
Heck, that is economics 101 there. In fact, for my advanced economics class next semester, I am going to bring this up to the professor. It seems to be a pretty affective strategy.
I look for more companies to come out and do the same thing here. Look for it.

Srsly?
You could do a lot worse. Get extra garlic dipping sauce.
-
Yeah, Papa John's pizza is not all that great. Which could one of the reasons they are using this 'strategy'.

That garlic butter/sauce whatever is also good for cooking steaks or other meats, too.

^ Nothing is better than Jack Daniels marinade. NOTHING!!

I hate to sound arrogant, but I live around the food capital of the world especially when it comes to pizza, hot dogs, italian food etc. OMG at Papa Johns, the fact that some people actually order it around here makes one say "out of towners". I had it once just to try it and it was horrible.

I live in a food desert when it comes to chain restaurants or any other restaurants for that matter.
Pizza is limited Papa John's, Monical's , Pizza Hut, and Dominoes. We don't have much else for pizza places.
-
 If the rest of the country wants pizza, Papa John's is about the only place to go.
I miss real NY style piazza but the last decent restaurant left here about thirty years ago.
-
I had a piece of NY pizza when I went. God forbid, I'll come across the corner place I got it near the Hotel Pennsylvania next time I get back there. Thick, soft crust, excellently melted cheese, herby, just right sauce, and sausage disks that were huge. The whole thing was just yummy. The next time I go in some months, I may just order a whole pie, and eat heavenly in my hotel the few days I'm there.
-
I can't help but laugh at any fast food boycott and it only adds to the fact I don't know what any of these restaurants are.
My first thought when reading "Chick-fil-a" was :???: and promptly "am I pronouncing that right?".
Seriously how much fast food is there in the US? Within 50 km of me we have McD's, KFC and Tims and nothing else. Maybe it's just my province not being on the border but still :/

Considering how well it's worked for Chick-fil-a I wouldn't blame any business for trying to start a boycott right now.

I totally get that, it's just that around here most of the pizza places are owned by people from NY or NJ. we have the best pizza around, yet people still go to places around here like Pizza Hut and Papa Johns.

My Cousin moved to the mid-west about 20 years ago, she's from NY and her kids were born in the mid-west, they come back to NY once a year to visit family and her girls go nuts over the pizza.
-
:panic:
Now I really want pizza. Thanks.

Ballygrl, you said that it was horrible. I've never tried it, but the pictures look good. What specifically was so horrible about it?
It's funny that the NY pizza talent migrated over to NJ. When I lived in CT, it was impossible to find a good pizza (or good bagels, either). The crust would be burned on the bottom or taste like cardboard, it would be over-sauced, or it would have the fresh mozz on it, which is flavorless. Bleh. I wonder why NJ got the talent, and not CT. Strange.
We have oceans of Italians here in north country. Getting great pizza is no problem. In our tiny village, our pizza shop is owned by actual Italians who can barely speak English. Grandma's even puttering around the kitchen.
-
Damn, pretty soon those little libbys aren't going to have anything good to eat :lmao:

It just doesn't have the same taste at all of a real pizza. As far as the bagels? you can get awesome bagels now in NJ, not as good as NY but pretty darn close, and I've been told a lot of the pizza places around here are mob run.

Gina, tell me what the downside to that is. :???:
-
Great NY pizza place in San Antonio. Every time we go, we try to stop by there.
The owners are from Brooklyn.

I like the Papa Johns here. Good pizza, order online and arrives in about 20 minutes.
I get the extra honey mustard dip and use it on chicken.

Hey, there are thousands of pizza places in NJ, but I still ordered from Papa Johns this weekend . . . oh well, to each his/her own.
I like their Monday Football special -- for every touchdown, you get a free topping and if they win, double the free toppings :-)
yes, and the garlic dipping sauce -- yum!
-
I found a New York-style pizza place in the neighborhood. "Sal" is from Brooklyn and all of the reviews mention 'bad attitude' and 'lousy service'.

No doubt the Philly area is a good place for pizza. The garlic dipping sauce sounds good though.

It's not so much the people making the pizza, but we swear it's the water here that makes the crust so good, but it helps if the person is Italian and from New York to make it all taste good.
-

I figured that was the case... not too many genuine New Yorkers down here. When the company I worked for a few years ago picked up a huge Hess account, we had to deal with them. "Culture shock" is an understatement.

Industrial waste, dead bodies, polluted runoff, massive sewer rats. Or maybe it's all the Prozac the residents are peeing out. :-)

My cousin and his girlfriend at the time, now his wife, they were traveling cross country, they both have heavy accents, her more then him, and they both talk loud, well he said she was a hit in Texas, people kept staring at her and listening when she spoke, 1 guy said to her that he always thought the accent on TV was fake and he couldn't believe people actually talk like that :lmao:. We talk fast and loud and we're very animated.
-
If the Libtards keep doing this, we may actually have an economic recovery.

I don't know how you stand it. If I had to listen to it 24 hours a day, I'd probably be a little irritable too.

I want to build my own New York style pizza...

Pound it, slap it, flip it up into the air...

Not so much down here, Bally -- we're pretty friendly :-)
And I've been asked if I'm from the Midwest (no Joisey accent)
-
They had a show on the Travel Channel a while back comparing New York pizza with Chicago pizza. They ended up giving them both the same nod as being the best in the country because they couldn't decide which was better.

Oh, that's the hoity toity NY'ers, most NY'ers don't talk like that, we're loud and animated. I don't have a 100% NY accent though, my Grandparents were Canadian so my Mom and Aunts and Uncles speak like Canadians, well they all married NY'ers, so half my cousins speak like NY'ers and half of us (me included) speak with just a twinge of a NY/NJ accent, I do talk fast and with my hands LOL.

That's true, you probably couldn't even tell you're from NJ, it seems the central and northern part of the state are invaded by NY'ers.

My dad would always get annoyed with me if I waved my hands around when speaking, so I learned at an early age not to do that! :-)
