Republicans basically admit that Harry Reid's maneuver was BRILLIANT
Republican sources say they're in a Catch-22 situation on how to reply to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's claims that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney went 10 years without paying taxes.
They understand that they're taking Reid's bait and that responding to his unsubstantiated claims against Romney to keeps alive the issue of Romney's refusing to release his tax returns.
Still, these GOP sources say they feel that if they do not respond to such a serious charge from such a high-ranking Democrat, it will look like a tacit admission Reid is right.
Republicans stepped up attempts to undermine Reid's unsubstantiated allegations Monday, saying Reid and other Democrats' accusations are being orchestrated by President Barack Obama's campaign -- specifically his senior campaign adviser, David Axelrod.

Harry's move was brilliant in so many ways. There is literally NO way the Republicans can respond that doesn't make them look bad:
1. Ignore it. Oops! This is a "tacit admission Reid is right".
2. Release the returns. Oops! This would be an EXPLICIT admission that Reid is right and would destroy Romney's campaign.
3. Attack Harry Reid, calling him a liar. Oops! The follow-up to the claims of "Harry is a liar!" is to be forced to prove it. See #2.
As soon as Reid did this last week, many of us said that the GOP was in a box. And the subsequent week has proven that. The GOP and Romney have not had an effective response to Harry Reid yet, and this is STILL the only thing the media is talking about.
As soon as Romney names his VP candidate, the stories about that person releasing dozens of tax returns to Romney will come out. And then there will be another wave of questions about Romney not releasing his.
Politically speaking, it doesn't even matter anymore if Romney releases them. If he does, nobody will believe that they weren't "laundered" before being released. If he doesn't, the drip-drip-drip continues.
All the money raised by Romney can't help him here, as long as we keep the pressure on publicly. And I don't see any evidence that Dems will back off.

Poor DUmmies once again think that they have won big. The reality is, all this stunt has done is excite the moonbat base who would never vote for Romney anyway, meanwhile those that support Romney think Reid is full of shit, and the "undecided" aren't going to care in the least about Reid's parlor trick.
Besides by the time the election gets here it will be some other shiny object that whips the moonbats into a frenzy anyway, and this issue will be ancient history.
The whole thread is nothing but DUmmies creaming their panties over this.

Worst October surprise ever.

As I said on an earlier thread; Hopefully enough Americans are left who believe in fair play who find Reid's conduct despicable. Things like hearsay, ability to confront your accuser and obligation for accuser to prove charges are basic rules most of us live by.

They forgot option 4: Marco Rubio steps onto the floor of the Senate and states as fact that "Harry Reid has not released a single tax return, ever, he is a multimillionaire because he sold the same piece of land 3 times, and he is a pederast. He refuses to prove his innocence, therefore it must be true."

When the shoe was on the other foot as was accused by the libs during the McCarthy hearings, the libs went into a frenzy of indignation.

What GOP sources? Is this kinda like Reid's anonymous investor? I don't know any Republican who has said this. Heck, even our RINO's, like Lindsay Graham are denouncing it.

That's pederest CLUB. And shush some more. Not even Sandusky is supposed to know about it. I only know about it because I unknowingly had to fight one in fight club. He spilled his guts as I was beating the bile out of him. Then when he did, I spilled my lunch.
