Title: White House: Harry Reid ‘speaks for himself’ on Romney’s taxes.
Post by: Kyle Ricky on August 07, 2012, 10:27:51 AM
Could it be that the White House knows that Reid is full of crap, and it is up to him to furnish the proof the Romney didn't pay his taxes? Or are they losing their spine because they know this will get them nowhere?

White House: Harry Reid ‘speaks for himself’ on Romney’s taxes

The White House declined to criticize Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid over his unsubstantiated charge that Mitt Romney may not have paid taxes at all for a decade.

"I would simply say that you all probably know Sen. Reid well and, you know, he speaks for himself," press secretary Jay Carney told reporters at his daily briefing.

Romney has denied the allegation, and top Republicans have branded Reid a liar —but some Democrats have said the former Massachusetts governor could banish any doubts by releasing his income tax returns for that period, something he has steadfastly refused to do.

"I think it is a fair point to make that this is an issue that was not originated during the general election campaign, did not start with the president's campaign or with Sen. Reid. It started in the Republican primary when Gov. Romney's opponents brought up this issue," Carney said.

They're trying desperately to provide enough separation between themselves and Reid that Romney can't turn around and - rightfully - demand The Holy WON of Chicago's transcripts from Occidental College and Columbia University.  The consequences of such a demand could sink the Dhimmi'Rat party as a whole for a generation or more.

That is quite possible to be the case. I would believe that.

Several liberal media types have said even they can't stomach Harry's slimy attacks.  Fortunately the WH is up to it's armpits in the slime & has no way to extract itself.  The same type of shit gave Cruz at least 6 more points over Dewhurst in the TX runoff.  If us knuckle dragger Texans can spot unfair attacks so can the rest of the country.

Didn't the WH already stand behind Reid through Axelrod's statement that "Romney could put this to bed by releasing his taxes"?

When you have to throw your chief strategy guy under the bus for going off the reservation, that's a problem.

Grease for the wheels on the bus.
