A Toast... To The Government Sponsored Bit Of American Exceptionalism Known As 'Curiosity' !!!

And let the RightWing choke on it!

The Mars lander/Rover program, including Curiosity,  was conceived and executed by NASA in 2004 during the forward looking GWB administration.

Too much time and money had been invested in the project for Barry to cancel it.

However, the Obama administration has canceled all follow on projects in order to keep WillyTs' EBT card filled.

Taxpayers provided the funds, and private corporations did the work with the government doing the administrative work.

Sorry Wee Willie the right wing isn't choking on it. The government may have funded this particular project, but the ingenuity and the drive of private individuals is what made this happen today. Just like when 0bama was yanked off the golf course to give the green light to get 0sama, the individuals in the Navy SEAL team are the ones who did it. They were the ones who worked their asses off in order to become SEALS in the first place, and they are the ones who risked their asses in order to complete the mission.

Yeah he's a real hero.  :whatever:

I get tired of some conservatives who say that he made a gutsy call, he didn't.
Not directed at you Jason, I am referring to people like Hannity.

One of the reasons Hannity has one less listener (this guy).

The decision to get Osama is one of the biggest no-brainer decisions in history.

No, I know. I give credit where credit is due. The SEALS and the Admiral.

He made the politically expedient call. Too little, too late.

If it had been up to Barry to make the call, we would STILL be waiting for OBL to be capped.

Barry still hasn't figured out a way to vote "present" while being "president".   :lmao:

Valerie Jarrett was against it all the way.  She was furious she was superceded.  I don't think even king zero gave the order.  It was the others.

To reiterate Beefeater:

Will, I'm sure that former President George W. Bush appreciates the lovely toast and words of appreciation you sent his way!  Most gracious of you.

The real deal is that Leon Panetta made the call when Valerie Jarrett wasn't around to stop it. The bravest man in the world was basically out of the loop on it but as usual was there to take all of the credit. The boy king did the same thing yesterday with Curiosity as if he had done all of the work and written 490,000 out of 500,000 lines of the code that got it safely down to Mars. Obama is the biggest douche I have ever come across as far as blaming others for his failures and alwayas stealing credit for himself that should go to others.

He's failed to learn one of the basic techniques of good leadership: Credit for a success goes to those who accomplish the task, Blame for failure goes to the leader. Even if something goes monumentally wrong, people respect a leader who can say "I screwed up, don't blame those guys".

His approach is the exact opposite because his ego won't let him accept that he can fail at anything.

You know, I wonder if anyone on that lander team has had any experience with heavy equipment. The reason I say that is that one of the first lander got stuck. The surface of Mars is covered in a talcum powder like substance and they put "wheels" on the lander. First time I forgive them for that one, they didn't know any better but if this one gets stuck, it's all their fault, not Bush's.

The lander should have had tracks or a cam over plate arrangement....or a hydraulic/electric arm like a backhoe capable of lifting/pushing at least 1/2 of it's weight and moving it from side to side to lift it out of a bog.
