Is This Election Really Going to Be ALL About the Economy?
Last edited Sun Aug 5, 2012, 03:28 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
The media has pounded day in and day out since last fall that all other subjects make no difference. They TELL US...yes, 'tell us'....that it will be all about the economy and nothing else and it will all depend on the unemployment numbers, etc. They know that it is the only hope repukes have. Their pet crap like defense has dried up for them. ( On the side they keep pushing 'race' dog whistles just as back up.) I think people are more interested in protecting what they already HAVE. They are scared shitless of attacks on everything from Medicare/medicaid to SS, food stamps, unemployment and the like because they know it's going to take a long time for this economy to recover (if it ever does) from the nuke the repukes dumped on it under Bush. I think they are also pissed off at rich people wiping their faces in it and threatening to make them pay more taxes by wiping out middle class deductions, etc. The bottom line for Obama is to counteract this paid media hype and show an economically nervous country the long list of what more they are going to lose under repukes and this offal of society called the Tea Party. There is another SIDE of this "all about the economy" meme.....the "what you are going to lose" side.

Does "It's the economy stupid?" ring a bell?
I can bet you that most folks care more about finding a job or a better one, if they have one now, than if gays can marry or any of the issues that the left is pushing. They also care more about jobs than Mitt's tax returns. If this election is about the economy 0bama is t0ast!

3. Rmoney would like it to be just the economy
because he knows absolutely nothing about anything else.
His fiasco in Europe last week proved that.
:mental:

For Romney it will be, but not for obama. Romney will win from it. obama will not. So which would want to talk about it more?
-
I bet all the unemployed and under employed hope to hell it will be all about the economy.

Thats all I needed to read, nothing new about this.
Gotta protect the handout plantation by any means possible.

They have extended unemployment benefits time and time again....they will let them expire now so they can report a drop in unemployment. Obama will use that as a indication that the economy is improving.

He's been using that as indication all along.

What fiasco was that?

The incompetent in chief knows he is doomed, that is why the kitchen sink is being thrown mid summer.
DUmmies should really get some political education.

The primitives are really really afraid that the economy'll be the number one issue.
That's the last thing they want, thus all these manufactured "issues" so as to distract.
Too bad for the primitives.

If it isn't, it SHOULD be. You know Obama and the MSM are going to do their damndest to make it about anything BUT. Hell, they've been trying it for months now, but nothing seems to work for them.
Gee, I wonder why?

If Obama was a Republican, it would 1992 all over again. But then George Bush wasn't an unethical piece of shit like Obama is and he has the media on his side.
-
Yes, yes it is.
Obama was supposed to correct 'The horrible Bush Economy' and failed. Instead, he spent all of his time and energy on a universal heath care plan that is disliked by pretty much everyone.
I suspect Obama was banking that the economy would get better on its own, and he would then take credit for it. Too bad.

8. Even if it is all about the economy
people still have a clear choice.
They can't reject Obama because his policies did keep us from going off a financial cliff and he's had over two years of positive public sector job growth.
Doubly wrong.
A) the first part is speculation. We really don't know what would have happened for sure - but if one looks at how other countries handled their own economic malaise, the ones that behaved more like conservatives have faired better than ones that behaved more like liberals.
B) Being short 11 million jobs isn't growth, no matter how you spin it.

The state of the economy will have nothing to do with the election this November.
The outcome will depend on the black turnout in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia.

I'm just not so sure anymore. When I went to the Chick-Fil-A appreciation day, in my very, very blue city, 20% of the hundreds in line at the drive-thru and inside were black. Obama's gay marriage stance has had a more significant impact than they realize IMO.

Oh I DO hope someone here has a mole deep enough so when they go on lock down suicide watch they'll be able to report back here.

The owebuma plan for owebuma success in the past has been, disqualify your opponent by digging up dirt and dishing it. The one good thing about Rmoney is, he is about as squeaky clean as a Presidential candidate could ever be. That's why just about every disqualification attempt by the lib/dem/socilaists has not only failed, but blown up in their collective faces.

Hey DUmmie, if you meant what you typed, you should know that normal people might see this as a reason to throw him under the bus. More and more faceless, unaccountable government drones with outrageously expensive pension plans and benefits that the rest of us have to pay for.

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) If exists, should be looking for ways to reduce governmental regulation and shrinking government instead of growing it.

Have you Dummies seen the price of a gallon of gas in the past 4-6 weeks? Tell us again it's not the economy. Stupid. And any job growth in the past 4 years hasn't made up for the staggering unemployment rate that has at least DOUBLED under Nobama and has yet to go under 8%. Good luck in November when your guy gets the pink slip
