Oh my.

Now we all know franksolich is truly desperate for material, having gone to the bird-watchers' forum on Skins island, looking for something.....anything.

Scotts Miracle-Gro pleads guilty to selling poisoned bird seed

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1127&pid=18243

I'm reposting it here for anyone who missed it over there.

I will not knowingly buy any Scotts products in the future. (Thankfully, I think that I haven't in the past either, but I'm not sure.)

1. I did miss it. Very important information.

Thank you.

I'm going to spread the word to other friends who feed the birds.

Also, tell some local stores... if they care to hear this information.

I will try to contact my newspaper, as well. Their Saturday edition covers bird-feeding and gardening.

2. The problem is that this happened in 2008.

According to court records, in 2008, Scotts distributed 73 million packages of bird seed coated with the insecticides Storcide II, containing the active ingredient chlorpyrifos, and and Actellic 5E, containing the active ingredient pirimiphos-methyl, intended to keep insects from destroying the seed.

Although it would be smart to avoid any bird food from Scott's in the future since they did nothing in the past when they knew this was a problem, the damage on this is done.

Why anyone would buy bird seed from a company whose main business is killing things is beyond me.

Why not?

Primitives go to abortion profiteers all the time.

Their main business is killing.

3. What about the people

Part of this plea covers the fact that they sold unregistered pesticides to the public and also through there lawn service in which thousands of their own employee's were put at risk for 2 years. I love the birds but what about the people.

MH1 is probably a Scotts Miracle-Gro investor hoping to start a lefty boycott of the product and reap the rewards.
