Oh my.

Don't look for Pamela at this campfire, though; she's embarrassed.

Bedbugs force Wichita library closing

WICHITA — The discovery of bedbugs has prompted the Wichita public library to close its main branch.

A patron reported seeing an insect Wednesday in a chair at the library’s downtown branch. An expert identified it as a bedbug.

KWCH-TV reports the building was closed while personnel searched for more bedbugs. Library officials said as of Thursday afternoon, some were also found on chairs in two reading areas.

Library director Cynthia Berner Harris says officials don’t believe any library materials have been infested, but transfers from the central branch to other branches have been suspended.

It’s not known when the building will fully reopen. The lobby will be open Friday and Saturday for patrons to return materials and collect items on hold.

2. The same thing happened here

they were closed Wednesday and yesterday to clean it up. It looks like it was pretty minor and they found it early.

Maybe it was Bobbolink? She could be the Johnny Appleseed of bedbugs as she makes her way from public library to public library leaching their free internet while leaving a trail of parasites in her wake.

Frank,

Being deaf, are you in on sarcasmo's song reference?

No, sir, I'm not.

I saw the comment, and as it was meaningless to me, I just continued on reading.

But if you care to illuminate me, I'm all ears.

I figured. It's trivial trivia but here's the context of sarcasmo's quip.

Band: The White Stripes (now defunct due to divorce, IIRC)

Song: Seven Nation Army.

I'm gonna fight 'em off
A seven nation army couldn't hold me back
They're gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back

And I'm talking to myself at night
Because I can't forget
Back and forth through my mind
Behind a cigarette

And the message coming from my eyes
Says leave it alone

Don't want to hear about it
Every single one's got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it
From the Queen of England to the hounds of hell

And if I catch it coming back my way
I'm gonna serve it to you
And that ain't what you want to hear
But that's what I'll do

And the feeling coming from my bones
Says find a home

I'm going to Wichita
Far from this opera for evermore
I'm gonna work the straw
Make the sweat drip out of every pore

And I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding
Right before the Lord
All the words are gonna bleed from me
And I will think no more

The song itself is pretty much meaningless but it's foot-tappable.

The band has a sort of beatnik retro thing going on stylistically. Strong bass line if you're interested.
