As this Romney "Paid no taxes" Scandal Develops,
and just before the GOP convention, I'm seeing a real crisis developing. The problem is simple: If Romney releases his tax filings and the story is true, it will be impossible for him to win the election. If he does not release those filings, then the story becomes automatically true in the minds of many voters, and he cannot win the election. That this information became public just before the convention puts Romney and the GOP in an extremely difficult position. What are the options?
1. Romney stonewalls - This will not work with the Convention, because further information will become available after the Convention that will destroy his candidacy. The GOP knows this, and knows they cannot do anything about it.
2. Romney caves and releases the filings - Disaster again, since he cannot possibly win if he truly paid no taxes for 10 years, and he'll drag down legislative candidates, too.
3. Romney withdraws from the race - This possibility saves Romney's ass, but there's not time to field a candidate who can win the Presidency at this late date, and the race and the GOP are already tarnished badly.
4. The GOP simply accepts that they will lose in November - attempts to minimize the damage and regroup. They nominate Romney and skulk off to lick their wounds. This seems the most likely course of events to me. They decide to punt, and give the other team the ball, and hope they can keep the game alive for the future.
Bottom Line: The GOP is in a lose-lose-lose-lose position. Millions of moderate Republicans become disgusted with the party and either skip the election or vote for the Democratic candidate in multiple races. The Democratic Party wins big.
Anyhow, that's how I'm seeing it today.
Hm-m-m-m...
...several possibilities seem conspicuously absent from this list of possible scenario outcomes.
Can anybody help fill those in.

Our President isn't going to be able to do shit without a working House to back him up.

That assumes complete idiocy on the part of Harry Reid and other prominent Democrats. That's an incorrect assumption. The gloves are off on this one.

19. The GOP already knows they have lost.
Not only will the Romney disaster materially affect other elections, with all the public support for marriage equality, etc. happening, I think we are on the verge of a new Progressive era to replace the Republican nightmare.
It will soon be Democrats and Republicans versus the Tea Party. People like La Tourette and, yes, Boehner, know the GOP they knew is gone.

20. I'm beginning to think you're right, actually.
Even in state legislatures, like mine in Minnesota, the 2010 bunch of GOP freshman legislators have been in panic mode for the past two years, attempting to introduce every possible right-wing piece of legislation they could. They know that their position is temporary, at best. In Minnesota, they bankrupted the state GOP organization to do this. The GOP in Minnesota is in shambles.
They tried a classic bluff move, but aren't holding the cards they need to have. Now, it's time to show their hands, and they're holding crap. I have a good feeling about all of this, and hope like Hell I'm right.
We'll be seeing a lot more of these scrunts on Nov 7:

They didn't bother to vet this guy because they know they have the elections in the bag with those friggin' cheat-machines.

The mineral oil primitive is getting senescent in his old age.
He should stick with writing human-interest stories, which he does very well, and give up prognosticating on politics.
-
Or here's one:
Romney tells the MSM that he'll show his tax returns when Maobama shows his transcripts, Harvard Review stuff he wrote, fast and Furious documents, uncensored donor list, et. al. or they just need to shut their collective pie holes about it.

Actually, it's pretty easy going through life with this fog of delusion.
If one's a primitive, one gets a check in the mail from the welfare office every month.
One doesn't have to venture out into the real world to work for a living; one can sit inside at home all day long with nary a worry in the world, with nary a worry about the big terrible frightening larger real world.

Right now people don't give a flying rat's ass about Romney's tax returns, how much money he makes, whether his wife has a horse in the Olympics or trumped up poll numbers. They tried the same poll number bullshit with Reagan, too. He won in a landslide.
The left can throw anything they want at Romney, I doubt it will matter. People know the country is going to hell. They know their jobs are already at risk because the economy just gets worse and worse (my husband has lost three jobs since the boy king took office and has had to take jobs out of town...he hasn't lived at home for almost as long). I lost my biggest account, it's a wonderful 2nd generation Italian restaurant that's trying to keep their doors open. They've always used produce, meat, eggs, etc. from local farmers and ranchers. They can't do that right now. People that used to have savings are now living paycheck to paycheck and hanging on by a thread. Incomes are down. People trying to feed their families and pay their bills are underemployed. The majority think the country's going in the wrong direction. You can feel the heaviness, fear (that things aren't going to get better), the anger over 0bamacare. It's Jimmy Carter's malaise on steroids.
This tax return business is the last thing on the minds of America. Things are so bad now that the slash and burn 0bama usually (successfully) employs against an opponent aren't working. Romney's a truly moral person and beyond cutting a kids' hair in high school, they can't find anything in his closet. And you know they've looked. In spite of my lack of enthusiasm when he got the nomination, I'm beginning to think Romney is the right person. Anybody with skeletons in their closet would be destroyed by Axelrod and the rest of the cold blooded assholes that have helped 0bama sail through elections by scarring his opponent so much he doesn't have to earn his win. Given their desperation, they'll do anything, destroy anyone to keep the boy king in the big chair. Romney's handled the crap well (he didn't fall victim to the whole "show your tax returns or else" nonsense and he's told Harry Reid to put up or shut up), he has an excellent rapid response team and his supposed "gaffes" are only gaffes to the left.
The rest of us know Israel's economy is better than Palestine's because Israel is a democracy without Muslim extremists sucking the life out of their people. We know the classless press heckled him on sacred ground in Poland (how much desperation does that show?) and that he was endorsed by Lech Walesa, who evidently doesn't think 0bama is the best thing to happen in the history of the free world. The majority of America may still watch the alphabets but that doesn't mean they believe them. My Nana doesn't even believe them anymore and she thinks half the stuff in the National Enquirer is true. The fate of this country is hanging in the balance. Despite what the left & the media (but I repeat myself) try to shove in our faces, we're a conservative country. We know our liberty and independence isn't trickling away drip by drip, it's a freaking flood. Even people who don't pay attention to politics believe in American exceptionalism and deeply love this country as it was founded. Preventing America's decline is a helluva lot more important than whatever the media is pushing on any given day.
Don't fall into their trap. They want you to think exactly what you're thinking. The more they can get you to believe this kind of shit, the easier it is to convince you 0bama's reelection is inevitable. It's too early (never would be a better choice) to have a defeatist attitude.

The short of it is this..
If you and/or your friends and family can't get by because they are un/underemployed, or because the cost of pretty much everything has risen out of range - none of this crap is going to matter.
Not tax returns, horses, race, religion, wealth, 'magic underwear', Bain Capital... None of it. Polls aren't going to matter either, because no amount of biased sampling, numerical massaging, or breathless exposé reports can convert an unemployed person into an employed person. If someone was unlucky enough to lose their job during Obama's watch, their personal unemployment figure is 100%.
It isn't going to matter how Fat-hEd Shultz, Angrier Mitchell, or Madcow frame it.
The only question that will matter is this --
'Am I better off taking a Chance on Mitt Romney, or should I go for more of the same ?'
And unless Obama can turn the economy around, he is done. Period.

No, I try to re-introduce traditional words, not sterile new ones.
The only thus far that hasn't caught on among the primitives--and I've been trying for years--is "boryborygmous."
The primitives probably think that's not a real word, but it is.

I'm still thrilled every-time I see them use the word 'Bouncy' - There is no doubt that we (under our old roof) taught them that word, as it was a CU invention.

What world do these people live in?
Their world does not include any inclusion of alternate ideas. DU does not allow anything but the party line. THey only talk with like minded people. If anyone questions their arguments, it is racist, or homophobic, or put forward by a conservative chrisitan idiot that is incapable of walking and chewing gum at the same time.
The only answer to conservative principles, is to yell, scream plug their ears and threaten to divorce their families.
