Title: OK DUmmies I have you all figured out
Post by: AprilRazz on August 01, 2012, 09:07:08 AM
Jan Ebeling is set to ride Rafalca tomorrow in the individual and team dressage event tomorrow. I will be cheering for them. I don't think that the fact that Mrs. Romney is a partial owner of that horse is your problem. You big problem is the fact that this man and this horse put in years of hard work in making it to the games. Mr. Ebeling is not rich (probably far from it) and like most of the riders he made it to London by hard work and sacrifice. He wasn't handed his talent and the owners of Rafalca saw that he was the one that was going to do the best with that horse.
I know from personal experience (I made the top part of the long list) how hard it is to even get to the games. Much less win.
So what is it about hard work that pisses you people off so much that you would publicly bash one of your own countrymen because he achieved what was probably a lifelong dream to make it to the Olympic games?

You don't seem to have a problem with the 1%'rs that are playing basketball for the US.

BTW nads I didn't have to run to google to find out what dressage is. Because I am an expert in the subject and have the credentials to back it up. :loser:

That's because hard work and having to earn what you have is foreign to the Libturds.  Either they were born into it or they just wait on the monthly welfare checks.

It is possible that they are pissed because in their never-ending desire for redistribution of assets they are aware that talent (combined with effort/hard work) cannot be included in that redistribution.

Sucks to be them sometimes.  Make that all the time.

Madam, I really don't want to rain on your parade, but--

22. Because you do not understand Dresage

there is a lot of skill involved on the part of the rider as well.

It might be a rich person's sport, but there is a lot of skill on the part of the rider too. What is funny is that at one time it was part of high end military training for cavalry officers, because learning this is also useful with your battle horse... no, not the dancing part... the learning to communicate with the horse part.

Yup, when growing up I liked it... not because I could have ever afforded to do it, so developed an interest in what is involved... and a well trained dressage horse is something to behold. The dark side, the abuse of animals with people who want to take short cuts, cue the Romneys. No, I am not kidding, one of the horses they sold, they were sued silly, the animal was very much abused.

Guess we are going to have to add horse trainer/dressage judge to her resume.

But I do wonder what proof she has of abuse?

Some sanity from another poster...

25. As a new rider, Ann Rmoney was as green and "common" as anyone else who's sat in a saddle

She rides horses for her MS.

The people who have trained, and ride at the Olympic level are athletes at the peak of their game and most of them are, yes, a common "man" (although horse sports are one of the few gender neutral sports and are dominated by women). Like track and field, or fencing, or rowing, or badminton, or beach volleyball, or basketball - very few of them come from privilege. Most Olympic athletes make more than the bottom 50% earn in a year... fwiw, not just equestrians.

Ann isn't riding this horse - she's simply sponsoring this pair. She has the bucks and is doing the "right" thing by trying to grow the sport in the US (where we really suck at dressage). She's fallen in love with this particular equestrian sport and is trying to keep it alive. That's not a bad thing.

BTW I was the poor kid in the equestrian sports as well. But I worked my butt off and beat the rich kids on their high dollar horses on my little $1,200 ex-racehorse. Then people let me ride their expensive horses.

Just because I know it will piss you primitives off.
Rafalca and Jan Ebeling performed beautifully today and are now in 13th place  individually. :-)

BTW I checked on nad's claim of abuse and the only mention of it that I could find was on moonbat websites. Nothing in the US Dressage Federation about it and it would have shown up there. Nor any of the horse publications. Not even a mention of the supposed law suit.
