Same-sex couple denied wedding cake by bakery

Shop owner Jack Phillips probably didn't think he was going to be wading into a civil rights debate when he told the couple that he would not make a cake for their wedding, but that's exactly what has happened.

Dave Mullin and Charlie Craig said they dated for nearly two years before getting engaged. They went into the Masterpiece Cake Shop thinking they'd spend a full day trying cakes for their ceremony. Instead the meeting lasted a few seconds.

"My first comment was, 'We're getting married,' and he just shut that down immediately," Craig said.

What do you expect, you ****ing asshole?  Find a bakery that supports your perversion and quit trying to force other people to accept your disgusting lifestyle.

These idiots piss me off.

Don't think the owner of the bakery was hurting for money to refuse ANY business.

What ever happend to the customer is all ways right ????

Damn if he had been asked to bake a cake portraying drug dealing or an Adult male with a small boy, a cake with a big dick on top or a cake with female part, I can understand being squeamish and refusing.

However to refuse in an UN tactfull manor is going to hurt business.   Have to remember these Gays have straight family's that will need a $400.00 cake in the future for the straights in the family.

Some things, like personal and religious conviction, are more important than money, vesta.

Not when I am willing to spend my hard earned money and a car dealer will not sell to me because I have an NRA sticker on the window of my trade in.

Darn I have rights too, if the dealer will sell only to Muslims and is a public business, who trumps on the rights issue ???

I am a Jew , for instance, and I want to buy land to build a home on.    The seller refuses to sell or rent to Jews, what next.       This was at one time in force as a  "Gentlemans Agreement."

Say I am a Gay doctor wanting to buy a condo and the HOA refuses to sell to me.   Or as not that long ago Blacks/Single Woman  not welcome at Golf Courses, Country Clubs or Yacht Clubs.

People have the right  of access to a public business regardless of race, religion, or sexual preference.

Fancy having a pregnant wife and not being allowed to buy what you need as the shops and stores were run by Lesbians that did not approve of pregnant woman.    Easy enough to say go somewhere else but in the middle of the night heading for a new duty station and a storm coming in----  The we do not rent rooms to Men means the husband has to sleep in the car.

Anyone that works their ass off to build a business a public business has no right to question who the customers are, if they are the same race, religion or have sex in the Missionary Position.    Landlords do have the right to deny anyone from renting if they do a back ground check and find the people have a bad credit rating, have a police record or have no income.

The Gay owner of a donut shop however has no right to refuse service to females or Ministers or Priests.

What do two sodomites need with a cake?  A cake is a traditional offering at a wedding reception of a new husband and wife.  It represents the purity of their union and the hope and promises of fertility in their future.

Once again I ask:  What do two sodomites need with a cake?

I applaud this baker.  Why should he soil his business reputation with this ridiculous (and nasty) cake order?

If they wanted the cake, they could have said they were ordering it for someone else. That baker didn't build that cake himself anyway.

The customer is NOT always right.  He (or she) might always be the customer, but the customer is not always right.

vesta, here are a couple of cupcakes. Now shut the **** up. (h/t to Snugs.)

When we start taking people to court because of cupcakes or wedding cakes, or fruit loop boxes, what we're doing at that point is causing trouble.

You're a cupcake? And you want cake? Talk to Marie Antoinette -- she'll fix ya right up.

Bitchslapped for bein' an asshat.

So why can't you go to a dealer that will accommodate you?

Turns out they were invited to not be customers.
