Why is it that in Germany there were 194 gun murders last year and in the US...
there were 9,400+ being that Germany has 82,500,000 and the US has about 340,000,000 shouldn't we be at about 776 gun murders for the past year...what could be making the difference?

1. many sociological issues make the difference.
The US and Germany are two different "beings".

Shhhhhh. You know you can't talk about sociological or cultural differences here. That's racist.
Small fire, but that last post brings an important point up. I'm sure the DUmmies do not want to go there.

Well maybe part of the reason is that in the USA you can go online and buy an AR-15 and a 100 round clip for it along with 6,000 rounds of .223 ammo capable of going through someones body out the other side and into someone else body....Oh and the fact that in Germany you CANT do that....That might be a small reason. Or perhaps its the fact that the gun companies (protected by NRA lobbying) is just fine seeing its products end up in peoples hands illegalle and we do essentially nothing to stop this....
-
They see a difference, here, but, not on single payer? morons

I have got to find that website. So far I've only seen Ar-15s with 30-round magazines...no "clips" of any capacity...and even if I make arrangements on-line I still have to go to a physical, FFL-holding dealer, go through the "instant" background check and fill out a 4473.
Please share this superspecial website with me? And tell me more about these 100-round "clips". Thanks.

How about the FACT you have to go thru a FFL licensed DEALER to pick up said items, even if you order online, and a .223 has a hard time going thru a car windshield, much less thru a couple of bodies. Yes, you can buy ammo in 1,000 round cases online, so what?
A "100 round clip" is NOT a clip, it's a DRUM. Tell me, what difference would having a "100 round clip", or 4-25 round clips, or 10-10 round clips make anyway. They all hold 100 rounds.
Oh and the fact that in Germany you CANT do that....That might be a small reason
And yet, Germany STILL has gun crimes. How does that happen?
Or perhaps its the fact that the gun companies (protected by NRA lobbying) is just fine seeing its products end up in peoples hands illegalle and we do essentially nothing to stop this....
Few FACTS here, cupcake.
1) Gun companies operate under the laws of the FED GOV, not the NRA. The NRA lobbies for US, and the Second Amendment, not the "gun companies". Gun companies only make and sell whatever is LEGAL!
2) All the gun laws in the world WILL NOT keep guns out of the hands of "peoples hands illegalle" (your quote), for the simple fact you liberals can't seem to wrap your tiny, little brains around: Gun laws do not effect criminals, only the law abiding. IF CRIMINALS OBEYED LAWS, THEY WOULDN'T BE CRIMINALS, WOULD THEY!
3) All of these so called "massacres" took place in "gun free zones". The places in the US with the HIGHEST gun crime rates have the STRICTEST gun control laws, and are located in 'blue state hellholes", including Barry's hometown of Chicago. (279 deaths by guns there so far this year.) Here where I live, 0. Why? Because a lot of us can, and will SHOOT BACK, and the criminals KNOW IT!

Apparently you've never tried to purchased a firearm. Depending where you live and the type of firearm, you ALWAYS have to fill out ATF paperwork. That information gets called in for approval. Also 6000 rounds of 5.56/223 may be a fair amount of ammo for a casual shooter, but not for a target/competitive shooter.

Germans are a better shot maybe?
-
I read an article in the Chicago rags a couple of weeks ago, that broke down the race of victims this year. Out of the 230 or so victims of gun crime 11 were white. Now somewhere around 40% of the city is white. Make of that what you will.

Dumb****--they're not "clips." They're "magazines."
Do try and keep the terminology straight, won't you? Oh, and drum magazines are seriously notorious for jamming if you bump or dent them. Most of the deaths/injuries were caused when he was using the shotguns. 12-gauge 00-buck has that effect in crowded rooms at point-blank range, dontcha know.
Finally, we've had the whole "which would you rather be shot by" argument.
Nobody obtained these weapons illegally, unless he lied on the form/background check about being declared mentally incompetent, institutionalized, or a convicted felon. In fact, he looks like all the training he got was from playing HALO on his ****ing X-Box.
Now go fetch your ****ing shine box.

If you've got the money, 500-1000 rounds in a fun weekend isn't entirely unheard of, either. I've never gone through less than 100 rounds when I practice with the pistol.

Really? Try that sometime, get back to us when it gets delivered. In the real world you can find one on-line, but it still has to go through a gun dealer who physically turns it over to you, has you fill out the required disclosure forms under penalty of perjury, and he or she still has to run you through the FBI check before they can deliver the gun to you.
You're an idiot.

Apparently you can go to your local gun show any week and buy them, probably right next to the guy with the antitank rockets and the cop-seeking bullets.

TexMex. If your going to come online and talk smack about the who ,what ,when and where of buying guns and gun ownership you can at least give people the respect and honesty of doing a simple Google search about gun laws and not **** it up like a typical liberal and lie or repost lies about the subject. Otherwise do us and the world a huge favor and go outside and play a nice game of hide and go **** yourself.
-
When you look at the data of where most gun violence is there is only one inescapable conclusion, democrats. Everywhere there is huge gun violence is in democrat party bastions.

My friend went to Oktoberfest in Munich a couple years ago and spent some time in the big beer tents. He was amazed at how civil everyone was while getting blitzed on beer for hours. Teenagers and 70 year olds drinking and singing together. Not one fight or even argument broke out. Never happen in the US.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with our lack of quality mental healthcare, war on drugs, the massive amounts of powerful gangs which have resulted from the war on drugs, rampant poverty in inner city areas, or the poor public schooling system.
Nope. I'm sure it can't be any of that.
They keep hammering that dumbass meme about "lack of mental healthcare".
First of all, we do have quality mental health services available here. It may not be free (which is what they're really talking about), but it is available. Secondly, the vast majority of people with mental health problems are not violent, and the vast majority of gun violence is not committed by people with mental health issues. Lastly, it presupposes that the minority of those mentally ill who do have a potential for violence will seek help, when in reality a lot of them don't have the insight into their own problems that would compel them to seek treatment, and unless they've demonstrated that they're a real or potential danger to themselves or others they can't be forced into treatment.

Switzerland, where most house holds have weapons:
Police statistics for the year 2006 records 34 killings or attempted killings involving firearms, compared to 69 cases involving bladed weapons and 16 cases of unarmed assault. Cases of assault resulting in bodily harm numbered 89 (firearms) and 526 (bladed weapons). As of 2007, Switzerland had a population of about 7,600,000. This would put the rate of killings or attempted killings with firearms at about one for every quarter million residents yearly. This represents a decline of aggravated assaults involving firearms since the early 1990s. The majority of gun crimes involving domestic violence are perpetrated with army ordnance weapons, while the majority of gun crime outside the domestic sphere involves illegally held firearms.
I wonder why TexMex didn't ask about the Swiss?

We met a lovely young woman from Berlin who came here a few years ago as an exchange student. Her first summer we taught her how to shoot and she took to it like a duck to water. We are good friends with her host family and she returns to the states every summer to visit. Every time she is here she goes shooting (friend has lots of land so we shoot there) and is a crack shot.
Well we took her to a gun shop here in Virginia and I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head. Since she was a little girl she has been taught that guns are bad. Even though she loved shooting she was still taken aback at seeing all the guns on display. She had a hard time wrapping her head around the fact that they were all real guns. But she understood how our constitution protects the sale and possession of firearms. It was just a bit of a culture shock for her.
She herself admitted to illegally carrying pepper spray when she goes out in Berlin. She admitted to me that she felt safer here in the US than she does at home.

You know one could ask this question .
After two world wars fought by Germany, why would you want to or even care if the Germans had as many guns as we do in the first place TexMex?
