My Mom's Health is Failing
Last edited Tue Jul 24, 2012, 07:58 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
She pretty much has not been out of the hospital since the first week of December. She turned 88 on July 11th. She moves to a hospice tomorrow. The guess is a few months. Thanks for ALL the good wishes for her health that started failing last June.
As a favor, spread the word on this: What Happens to Current Nursing Home Residents if the House Budget Resolution Becomes Law?

Under the proposed Republican budget the house passed, she would have not been able to go to a nursing home or hospice.
Steve
does he have to make EVERYTHING political?

What happens when union health care workers go on strike and sabotage their workplace? (http://moonbattery.com/?p=14504)
Union workers at Connecticut nursing homes represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) are alleged to have vandalized and sabotaged assisted living facilities in Connecticut — including those that care for Alzheimer’s patients — during a mass walkout earlier this month.
HealthBridge, which owns the nursing homes, is calling for a criminal probe after union workers allegedly tampered with medication records, removed patient identification bands and even switched the ID bands of various Alzheimer’s patients after union workers voted to stage a walkout because they were unhappy with the progress of labor negotiations between the union and HealthBridge.
This is not a one-off event:
According to FoxNews.com, the incidents occurred in five of the company’s nursing homes in the overnight hours before the July 3 strike, and the incidents are similar to those that occurred in 2001 at several New England nursing homes that were represented by the SEIU.
A HealthBridge told FoxNews.com that these acts were “heinous†and could have “put patients’ lives at risk†and potentially “in grave peril.â€
Naturally, local Democrats are recoiling in horror from these tactics. Just kidding.
Top Democrats in Connecticut such as Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Gov. Dannel Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen are supporting the union in the labor negotiations and, according to HealthBridge, Jepsen originally rejected their request for an investigation.
I hope the Weeper's mom isn't in a unionized place.

Steve, Steve, Steve. I read the first few sentences of your post and felt sad for you. I felt sympathy for you. Then in true DUmbass liberal fashion you turned my sympathy upside down.
Now, instead of having sympathy for you I have sympathy for your mother. It's sad that she will possibly pass from this life knowing she has a left-wing nut job for a son who appears to show more concern about scoring political points than he shows toward his mother.
Shame on your worthless ass.
As for your mother, I wish her peace, and she will be in my prayers.

DUmmies lie, Dummies always lie.
For DUmmies, everything is political, everything.
I don't feel a thing for steve.
To politicize the impending death of your mother is simply depraved.
-
I feel for all of OS's family except Steve.Just went through that with my wife's grandfather. Hard thing, hospice.
-
Awwwww, sorry to hear that his Mom is sick, just said a Prayer for her now.
-
I'll ignore the political rant out of respect for his Mom.
-
I wonder if Steve feels the tiniest bit guilty that he has wasted his resources & saved nothing to help his mother in her final days. My guess is that when his time comes he will be bitching that his kids aren't doing enough for him.
-
... does he have to make EVERYTHING political?
They're assholes. It's what assholes do.
Godspeed, Mrs. Dawes.

I think he's already bitching that all of us aren't doing enough for him.

All I have to say is I'm sorry Steve that your mother is going through this and I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
-
Hey sincerely **** YOU STEVE!. I've had enough of this bullshit of everyday things being cause by me. With a screed like that I am finding it hard to have sympathy for you, if this is even true.
-
Sorry to hear about his mom but who could bring politics into something like this while their own mother is dying?
-
Hope his mom is comfortable and free from suffering,I don`t care a bit what her political leanings are,if it is her time to pass may it be without pain.
Steve, listen to me for a moment...you post this for cred points using your own moms health as a tool.
Saying you should be ashamed is an understatement.
You are a miserable, worthless piece of shit and have a good home in the cesspool that is the DUmp.

My own sentiments, exactly, sir.
You know, I predicted this would happen.
-
May Mrs. Dawes last days be peaceful and without pain or discomfort. As for you Steve, you get no such prayer from me. Anyone who would use their own mother's final days to make a political statement is a cretin unworthy of any sort of compassion or concern.
I hope you read this and take a few minutes to think about what you just did. And I do hope that you gain some wisdom, and realize that not everything is political.
-

Only a DUmmy, BEG. Only a DUmmy.
I know when my father was dying, politics was the farthest thing from my mind. Only his comfort and care, and the support that his wife was needing and grief counseling we all needed in the days immediately following.
-
Why isn't he taking his mom in?
-
Why isn't he taking his mom in?
Because, as any good liberal will tell you, that's the government's job.
-
I'm sorry that his moms health is failing and may soon pass away. Once you go into a hospice it may not be as long as a few days if that before anyone goes. Why anyone would go and post online when you should be spending time with your family is beyond me. When my father passed away a few years ago I did,'t say anything about it until my father had passed away. Also I didn't bring politics into the post because it wouldn't have mattered who was in office, the fact was the hospital let my father down when he needed them most and the result was the death of my father. Myself and the family would have loved to have taken them to court but there was no way to prove it. Steve if for nothing else is a union goon and will probably never change, no matter the circumstances.
-
Steve is a pompous douchebag.
-
Steve, if you had the slightest bit of respect for your mother, you would have posted the political crap it another thread. Even if it is important, you used your dying mother to promote it. This is the woman who raised you. She fed you and clothed you. She changed your diapers and bathed you when you were a baby. She taught you to walk and talk. She comforted you when you were afraid, kissed your scrapes and bruises, held you close and dried your tears when you were sad. She loves you unconditionally. And this is how you repay her? This is how you express your grief? By telling people to oppose some legislation that doesn't fit your agenda? Stay classy Steve! I hope your children have the same concern for you when your time is near. In the meantime, I'll pray for your mother that God gives her the comfort you, apparently, are incapable of. I hope her passing is comfortable.

The website he lists is for "Center for Medicare Advocacy," a left-wing lobbying group.

Lots of people are forgetting the one immutable rule for understanding DUmpmonkeys: they lie all the time, about every single thing.
This tale from Socialist Steve is no exception.

I find the story of his mother credible, but I think the big guy's looking for sympathy for himself, not for her.
Oh woe is me crapola.
Those of us who lost our parents at an age decades younger than the big guy (say, like about four decades younger), find the big guy's "feel sorry for ME" attitude both contemptible and ridiculous.
For her, Godspeed; for her worthless son, whoop-de-do.
-
Using a hospice bed as a political soapbox is disgusting and inhuman, but I'd expect nothing less from a dyed-in-the-wool DUmmy.
-
Some non me person should take up a collection, but not ask me to support financially. In spirit count on me for 100% support.

Oh, the old lady dying business may well be true. But it's even money that she went to her just reward years ago, providing a tale to be rolled out when there's some imbecilic political point to be made.

Prayers and sympathy for Steves mother. It's sort of bitter sweet because the sadness of her passing way overshadows the joy that he's losing his meal ticket.
