One of the many arguments that I have encountered on the various forums that I visit ultimately and without exception .. turn to England and it's strict laws on guns!
The argument is almost always .. "Look how safe England is with their gun control laws!"
Well a simple Google search does a pretty good job of putting the lie to all these .. "England is safer because of gun controls!"
Out of the many articles found on Google about England and gun control, I selected two that should put the liberal's gun grabbing lies to rest!
Think Tough Gun Laws Keep Europeans Safe? Think Again...
It wasn't supposed to happen in England, with all its very strict gun control laws. And yet last week Derrick Bird shot and killed 12 people and wounded 11 others. A headline in The Times of London read: "Toughest laws in the world could not stop Cumbria tragedy."
Think Tough Gun Laws Keep Europeans Safe? Think Again... | Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/06/10/john-lott-america-gun-ban-murders-multiple-victim-public-shootings-europe/)
The point is .. IF I want to kill you .. I'm going to and all your liberal gun grabbing ways .. ain't gonna stop me!
Or how about this one:
After the 1997 shooting of 16 kids in Dunblane, England, the United Kingdom passed one of the strictest gun-control laws in the world, banning its citizens from owning almost all types of handguns. Britain seemed to get safer by the minute, as 162,000 newly-illegal firearms were forked over to British officials by law-abiding citizens.
But this didn't decrease the amount of gun-related crime in the U.K. In fact, gun-related crime has nearly doubled in the U.K. since the ban was enacted.

Doesn't England have one of the highest stabbing rates in the world? So why don't they control knives?
-
If I remember correctly they also have the highest or one of the highest rates of burglaries where the occupants are actually at home during the robbery. Why not what's the home owner going to do?

Well, I know what George Harrison did, he beat the snot of the bastard who broke into his house. :-)
Seriously that is a good point, if guns are not allowed then odds are if you break into a house they will be law abiding citizens and won't have one.

Actually they will prosecute you if you could have escaped out the back but didn't, and injure any of the home invaders. It is completely ****ed up.

So they have the reverse of stand your ground then. They have surrender your ground and run away.

So this is England hmmmm....what do the French do, send out engraved invitations?

Yes they do. They prosecuted a man named Tony Martin (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/norfolk/3009769.stm) who shot a burglar who had been breaking into his home THEN they let the burglar sue him!!
Upside down world.
