Title: I think Mitt's October surprise should be announcing he will accept ZERO salary.
Post by: sybilll on July 22, 2012, 04:25:08 PM
He certainly doesn't need the $$ and oh what ads that could lead to.  "Saving this country is more important than $400,000".  And, wasn't that one of the ways he endeared Democrats in MA?
Thoughts?

It wouldn't be the first time a politician has done that.  Our previous governor (for all the good the bastard did) accepted $1 for his annual salary.  I wouldn't be surprised if our current one agreed to the same thing.

Ahnuld in Californication was that way too.

I was thinking the same thing. He didn't take a salary while he was governor of Mass. So why would he if he is Pres? I think him announcing that would be a great thing for his campaign. Even if he would announce that he is giving all his salary to charity would be a good thing. Then the libs would probably complain about what charities he gives it to.

I don't know if it would work or just kind of backfire on him.  If he campaigns on that idea, then the left will just say that he is so rich, he can work for four years without a salary.  However, if he chose to donate his salary to some charity after the election, that might help 4 years later.

The only other President to serve without pay was George Washington. Romney I think would make good with it.

Romney would just turn over control of it to his blind trust executor....The same 'blind trust' people that he said were "an age old rouse...a sham".  Clearly Mitt Romney would do anything for a dollar, as evidenced by all of the companies he loaded up with debt, sucked dry, and bankrupted.  If you think rich people want to do anything else other than stay rich and get richer, you are sorely mistaken.

Hey, we have a liberal here! So, tell me. Where did you get your information that he loaded companies up with debt, sucked them dry, and then bankrupted them? That is o.k, let me guess, MSNBC? Yeah, that sounds about right.

So, what do you say about obama loading up the country with debt, sucking it dry, and then bankrupting it?

A little history lesson for you here: Romney didn't take a salary when he was Gov. of Mass. I can see him not taking one as Pres. After all, the man makes $20 million a year. So what would an extra $400,000.00 mean?

Who do you support for this election? obama or Ron Paul? either way, you are voting for obama.

I was hoping that he would resonate (look that word up at www.dictionary.com) with slopeheaded voters like you.  But, some of you are beyond hope.  P.S., you get your check and food stamps every 34 days, but I am sure you knew that.  If you disagree, please call me from your free ObamaPhone that we pay for, to discuss this. Otherwise, EABOD.

Another swoop and pooper.

Engage, TexMex. As it stands right now, you're being challenged on several issues. To the previous list, why don't you provide some sort of reputable, unbiased source regarding the "blind trust" claim you squeezed out of your ass and left stinking on the carpet?

You have a real anger and bitterness toward people with money. Why is that? Is it because you're inherently lazy and expect money to grow on trees? Unafraid to work for it? Expect government handouts to happen and they don't happen fast enough for you and your smartphone, iPad, and late-model vehicle in your driveway?

Do you have any idea how stupid this statement sounds? Why would rich people want to become poor? Of course they're going to defend and protect what they've earned, whether they earned that pile of money through hard work and sacrifice or it was bequeathed to them.

Liberals -- you guys make a mockery out of the term "common sense."

You would not know what rich people want because you are a poor misguided envious liberal. Must suck to be you.

Huh...funny.  Last time I checked Staples was doing pretty well.  Enough so that they paid a shitbox full of cash to plaster their name on a sports arena in Los Angeles.

I will help TexMex here. Here is a small list of companies that Bain Capital has helped and made successful

AMC Entertainment,
Aspen Education Group
Brookstone
Burger King
Burlington Coat Factory
Clear Channel Communications
Domino's Pizza
DoubleClick
Dunkin' Donuts
D&M Holdings
Guitar Center
Hospital Corporation of America (HCA)
Sealy
The Sports Authority
Staples
Toys "R" Us
Warner Music Group
The Weather Channel.

Now, TexMex, name one company that obama helped and made successful; and GM (Government Motors) doesn't count, as that was for nothing more than to pay the unions pensions. Here is a bonus question: Name one company that obama actually ran and had control of? Name one private sector job that obama even had?
