Put this in your Facebook status to drive your conservative relatives nuts
It's a sad day when a major-party candidate can build his entire campaign on misrepresenting the meaning of a demonstrative pronoun used by an opponent. How stupid can people get?
Let me know if you do that and what the response is.

Geez they are 2 for 2 today, between this, and the 2 questions thread, I don't see how we have a prayer of ever debating them. :rotf: :rotf:

The Obama campaign hotly disputes Romney's contention that the president meant what he said. A "fact check" from the Obama-Biden "Truth Team" (formerly Attack Watch) claims that Romney "is taking President Obama's words out of context" to produce "a complete distortion." Here is the full context, as presented by the Truth Team:
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.
The Team then explains: "The President's full remarks show that the 'that' in 'you didn't build that' clearly refers to roads and bridges--public infrastructure we count on the government to build and maintain."
That's bunk, and not only because "business" is more proximate to the pronoun "that" and therefore its more likely antecedent. The Truth Team's interpretation is ungrammatical. "Roads and bridges" is plural; "that" is singular. If the Team is right about Obama's meaning, he should have said, "You didn't build those."
Barack Obama is supposed to be the World's Greatest Orator, the smartest man in the world. Yet his campaign asks us to believe he is not even competent to construct a sentence.

One main difference between the mental inmates at the DUmp and real people is that we don't sit around thinking about trying to piss people off. Still maintain that the DUmp should be shutdown for public good and overall mental health of the primitives. To let the few thousand misfits that find a home there and that others actually think like them is to just enable their illness.
-
Yep, there you go, it's Mitt Romney's fault that "stupid people" misunderstood a "demonstrative pronoun" that Obama used. Now driving THAT point home ought to seal the deal for a second term. ::)

More distractions. The are really desperate........

I fail to see how this would drive anyone nuts, conservative or otherwise. I have liberal relatives. We don't talk politics. They know better than to toss out something as weak as this out. I would just laugh at them.
I'm continually amazed at the DU fantasy that a single sentence can stymie a conservative.
really. this is just pathetic.

Well, you have to understand. The DUmmies think that just looking at person a certain way makes them follow what they say. They think they are the most intelligent people in the world, when in fact, they are the DUmbest people in the world.

It's a sad day when a sitting president can build his entire campaign on misrepresenting when and where a person worked, instead of running on his own record. How stupid can people get?

Oh, they think obama's record is stellar. They claim that he will win easily from it. So why should he have to talk about it?

So STOLEN!
Best analogy I've seen yet.

Post "define the meaning of the word 'is'"
How soon they forget things.

It does irk me that they would make such a half-assed attempt at damage control and think it would fly.

Lurking DUmbasses...when the smartest man that ever lived has to resort to tortured wordsmithing to "unsay" something you should question how bright he really is.
So far his entire Presidency has been one misstep after the other.
-
Why would that DUmmie think that his/her/its relatives care about spacebook, much less what he/she/it thinks?
If perhaps they do peruse the pages, it's no doubt for comedy value, and egg him/her/it on. :rotf:

Faced with that, they went to Plan B. "Oh, clearly he meant the actual building."
:rotf: It boggles the mind how they think people would buy what they're selling.

With foodstamps and welfare checks.

With foodstamps and welfare checks.
Hey, in California you can buy Cigarettes and alcohol with food stamps. So why wouldn't they also use them to buy what they are selling?

It's done in Texas, too. :banghead:
Are there any states at all, that limit types of purchase?

I'm not sure, but it should be a federal law where you can't buy cigarettes or alcohol with welfare checks, or food stamps.

If you want to drive a DUmmie nuts, so to speak, just call the party they claim to belong to "The Democrat Party" and refer to their website as "The Democrat Underground."
Not much of a challenge, I know, but there it is.
-
And I would want to respond to that ridiculous comment why?

He's barely competent enough to read a sentence from a teleprompter...

As much as I am opposed to government reglation, I believe if you receive food stamps from Fedzilla, then there should be stores only or them.
And only stocked with healthy food. I loathe going to the grocery store and seeing nothing but CRAP in their carts.

I think they should also regulate what food they can buy, and what food they can't buy. And they should, in no way, shape, or form be allowed to by cigarettes or alcohol with them.

Virginia allows ONLY edible food to be purchased with EBT cards. No cigs, alcohol, or household products, like TP, detergents, paper plates, dog or cat food, or anything else you can't eat.

And at the end of the day what we're left with is another Liberal Democrat president trying to define what the meaning of "is" is. :whatever:
