Title: Some of my family
Post by: ChuckJ on July 17, 2012, 04:47:57 PM
Today, for some reason, I was think about how the DUmp often talks about their disgust with their families. It reminded me about how proud I am of some of mine. They are essentially anti-DUmmies. One is a nephew. One is a nephew-in-law. He's my brother's wife's nephew, but I still claim him. One is a cousin whose dad got started having children late in life.

D, a master-at-arms in the Navy Reserves. When he's not on duty he works as a guard at a prison keeping the DUmp heroes locked up.

D2, in training now at Parris Island.

J, traveling to Texas this week (or next) to do his Army medic training.

I'm proud of all three of them.

You're very lucky. I've converted my sister & brother-in-law but, still have a couple of idiots.  Still love them though.

Definitely sounds like a family that anyone in their right mind (Which of course excludes the DUmmies) would be proud of.

Well, in my wife's family, on her father's side, nine generations (and one younger sibling at that point) back, is the commander of the Patriot forces at the Battle of Oriskany in 1777, BG Nicholas Herkimer.  Actually, my wife supposedly has ancestors on both sides of that battle, because the families were so divided back then in their loyalties.  BTW, that battle had no foreign troops on either side--it was all Americans, buth Tory and Patriot.
