BUSHCO's 'Secret List Of 8 million UNFRIENDLY American Citizens' To Be Detained Under Martial Law

Is the government compiling a secret list of citizens to detain under martial law?
By Christopher Ketcham
http://www.radaronline.com/from-the-magazine/2008/05/go...
The Continuity of Governance program encompasses national emergency plans that would trigger the takeover of the country by extra-constitutional forces. In short, it's a road map for martial law
There exists a database of Americans, who, often for the slightest and most trivial reason, are considered unfriendly, and who, in a time of panic, might be incarcerated. The database can identify and locate perceived 'enemies of the state' almost instantaneously."
... a number of former government employees and intelligence sources with independent knowledge of domestic surveillance operations claim the program that caused the flap between Comey and the White House was related to a database of Americans who might be considered potential threats in the event of a national emergency. Sources familiar with the program say that the government's data gathering has been overzealous and probably conducted in violation of federal law and the protection from unreasonable search and seizure guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment.
According to a senior government official who served with high-level security clearances in five administrations, "There exists a database of Americans, who, often for the slightest and most trivial reason, are considered unfriendly, and who, in a time of panic, might be incarcerated. The database can identify and locate perceived 'enemies of the state' almost instantaneously." He and other sources tell Radar that the database is sometimes referred to by the code name Main Core. One knowledgeable source claims that 8 million Americans are now listed in Main Core as potentially suspect. In the event of a national emergency, these people could be subject to everything from heightened surveillance and tracking to direct questioning and possibly even detention.

Eight million? :libssuck:

Okay, I followed the DUmmie link to the original article. Some points to ponder -
The bureaucrat was James Comey, John Ashcroft's second-in-command at the Department of Justice during Bush's first term. Comey had been a loyal political foot soldier of the Republican Party for many years. Yet in his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he described how he had grown increasingly uneasy reviewing the Bush administration's various domestic surveillance and spying programs. Much of his testimony centered on an operation so clandestine he wasn't allowed to name it or even describe what it did. He did say, however, that he and Ashcroft had discussed the program in March 2004, trying to decide whether it was legal under federal statutes. Shortly before the certification deadline, Ashcroft fell ill with pancreatitis, making Comey acting attorney general...
What was the mysterious program that had so alarmed Comey? Political blogs buzzed for weeks with speculation. Though Comey testified that the program was subsequently readjusted to satisfy his concerns, one can't help wondering whether the unspecified alteration would satisfy constitutional experts, or even average citizens. Faced with push-back from his bosses at the White House, did he simply relent and accept a token concession? Two months after Comey's testimony to Congress, the New York Times reported a tantalizing detail: The program that prompted him "to threaten resignation involved computer searches through massive electronic databases." The larger mystery remained intact, however. "It is not known precisely why searching the databases, or data mining, raised such a furious legal debate," the article conceded.
If Main Core does exist, says Philip Giraldi, a former CIA counterterrorism officer and an outspoken critic of the agency, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is its likely home. "If a master list is being compiled, it would have to be in a place where there are no legal issues"—the CIA and FBI would be restricted by oversight and accountability laws—"so I suspect it is at DHS, which as far as I know operates with no such restraints." Giraldi notes that DHS already maintains a central list of suspected terrorists and has been freely adding people who pose no reasonable threat to domestic security. "It's clear that DHS has the mandate for controlling and owning master lists. The process is not transparent, and the criteria for getting on the list are not clear." Giraldi continues, "I am certain that the content of such a master list [as Main Core] would not be carefully vetted, and there would be many names on it for many reasons—quite likely including the two of us."
Can you say wild-ass speculation??
And let's take a look at who Comey is -
COMEY: Good afternoon, folks. I'm joined behind the podium by Assistant Attorney General Christopher Wray. We are here to announce a couple of procedural developments in the investigation into allegations that the identity of a CIA employee was improperly disclosed to the media last July.
The first development is that, effective today, the attorney general has recused himself and his office staff from further involvement in this matter.
By that act, I automatically become the acting attorney general for purposes of this case with authority to determine how the case is investigated and, if warranted by the evidence, prosecuted.
By his recusal, of course, the attorney general left to me the decision about how to chose a counsel, who that person should be and what the person's mandate should be. In anticipation of this development, I have given a great deal of thought to this in recent days and have decided that, effective immediately, the United States attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, will serve as special counsel in charge of this matter.
I chose Mr. Fitzgerald, my friend and former colleague, based on his sterling reputation for integrity and impartiality. He is an absolutely apolitical career prosecutor. He is a man with extensive experience in national security and intelligence matters, extensive experience conducting sensitive investigations and in particular experience in conducting investigations of alleged government misconduct.
I have today delegated to Mr. Fitzgerald all the approval authorities that will be necessary to ensure that he has the tools to conduct a completely independent investigation: that is that he has the power and authority to make whatever prosecutive judgments he believes are appropriate without having to come back to me or anybody else at the Justice Department for approvals.
Mr. Fitzgerald alone will decide how to staff this matter, how to continue the investigation and what prosecutive decisions to make. I expect that he will only consult with me or with Assistant Attorney General Wray should he need additional resources or support.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,107027,00.html
So he's the architect of Fizzlmas!
And most importantly -
during the March 2004 surgical hospitalization of John Ashcroft, refused to "certify" the legality of central aspects of the NSA program at that time. The certification was required under existing White House procedures to continue the program. After Comey's refusal, the newspaper reported, Andrew H. Card Jr., White House Chief of Staff, and Alberto R. Gonzales, then White House counsel and former Attorney General, made an emergency visit to the George Washington University Hospital [3], to attempt to win approval directly from Ashcroft for the program
In 2004, he backed Justice Department subordinates who withdrew a legal memorandum justifying harsh interrogations of suspected terrorists. This spring, more than a year after leaving the government, he publicly praised several United States attorneys who had been dismissed, undermining the administration's claim that they were removed for poor performance.
Finally, at a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Mr. Comey gave a riveting account of how he intervened in 2004 at the hospital bedside of Attorney General John Ashcroft to prevent two top White House officials from persuading Mr. Ashcroft to reauthorize the National Security Agency's domestic eavesdropping program. The Justice Department had ruled that the program would not be lawful without certain changes, and President Bush subsequently directed that the changes be made.
Colleagues say Mr. Comey is, even now, a reluctant critic of the administration he served. But they say he feels strongly that there was no justification for the purge of prosecutors and remains furious about what he saw in 2004 as an improper attempt by the White House to bypass the Justice Department.
Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, who led Mr. Comey through his dramatic tale on Tuesday, said it was clearly an emotional release for the former No. 2 Justice Department official. ''When we asked him about it, it was like a dam broke,'' Mr. Schumer said.
''He had been carrying this weight around inside him and wanted the appropriate opportunity to get it off his conscience,'' Mr. Schumer added. ''When you watched him, he was both pained and relieved.''

My inside sources tell me they STARTED the list by compiling the member list at DU and KOS. They used the Patriot Act to penetrate the so-called "anonymity" of thei Internet (since DU and KK need "real" email addresses.
I hope they (DU and KOS) aren't monitoring this thread -- if they ever find out what is REALLY happening, they can start to take steps to make themselves anonymous for real -- and I just don't want that. I am really hoping they are the first ones rounded (thank God most of them are anti-gun). After that, the Huffington Post, but that will be more work.

You hit the nail on the head exactly, and it always frustrates me to no end how so many think that in January '09 this tidal wave of change is going to sweep across the nation, and all of the things this cabal has done will just disappear like a bad memory.
They have gone to too much trouble to set this power structure up to not use it.
Nobody ever seems to ask the question "Why would they NOT use it?"
Why would they to go to this much length, this much trouble, this much risk, this much conquest, just to fade into the sunset and say "Aw shucks, I guess we don't get to play anymore."
So here is the bad news no one wants to face or deal with.
Unless something drastic happens within the next six months, they WILL get away with everything they have ever done, they will NEVER be held accountable, and they WILL walk away scott free, and it appears from the top of the leadership of this country to the most average American, WE WILL LET THEM.
If we do not hold them accountable, if we let them walk, they MAY go back into the wall like the cockroaches they are, however, whether it be four or eight years, THEY WILL BE BACK.
And they will more than likely finish the job next time.
Personally, I am very worried they are done waiting.
They are too close to their goal.
Why they would simply walk away I have no logical answer for.
Cognitive dissonance, anyone?
The DUmbasses have spent nearly eight years building up a florid and complex mythology regarding the Bush administration. The camps, Marshall[sic] Law, world imperialism and conquest, the administration enriching itself with billions in petrodollars, using the U.S. security apparatus to set up some kind of thousand-year reich, and on and on, ad nauseum. Now it's all coming to a close without any of their paranoid fantasies coming true.
Bush is actually poorer than when he took office, there is no evidence any innocent American has fallen victim to the Patriot Act, dissent is as loud and obnoxious and free as ever, Democrats were able to retake Congress (despite Diebold, imagine that), no one has been "disappeared", and Bush will be gathering up his shit and shuffling out of the White House in accordance with the Constitution just like every president before him for the last 200+ years.
The moonbats are finally starting to have a moment of clarity regarding all this, a gestalt moment when all the pieces come together and it finally starts to dawn on them how full of shit they've really been. What to do to protect what shards are left of their fragile psyches? You can already see they're hedging their bets a bit in the above post:
"If we do not hold them accountable, if we let them walk, they MAY go back into the wall like the cockroaches they are, however, whether it be four or eight years, THEY WILL BE BACK."
So, maybe they're not going to suspend the Constitution and take over the world right now, b-b-but, they can always COME BACK AND DO IT LATER four or eight years down the road.
They just can't figure out or accept that none of it was done for the reasons they so desperately wanted to believe and wanted everyone else to believe. They just can't accept that maybe, just maybe, even though there were mistakes, everything national defense-related that Bush has set into motion since 9/11 was a good faith effort to protect this country. Their hate and their petty arrogance will not allow them to admit, even to themselves, that they were wrong.

Yes, how can all that lovely, raving lunatic conspiracy theory go to waste? Were the DUmmies just whiling their lives away, wasting their own time indulging in lots of mental masturbation?
Nawwwwww!!!!! Couldn't happen!!!!!
And the disgusting things is, Obama-rama-ding-dong is the antidote, the Savior, the new broom sweeping it all clean. Except that the dust-up didn't happen.

Well, damn.
As long as there's a certain 5,000 names on that list, the inhabitants of Skins's island, we're okay.
It's an enormous bonfire, the primitives just oozing, sweating, with paranoia.

Let us pray that logic does not win the day where they are concerned.
Because logically, there is no way they should want to leave power legally and peacefully.
This interesting tidbit; one wonders what the American Nana primitive thinks of it:

24. And of course you all know that there was a secret agreement signed with Canada...
whereby the troops from either country can enter (and I assume fight) in either country. Under a Stephen Harper (minority Govt.) that has to be a big problem in my mind.

82. Come and get me, M*therf*ckers!
I had better be on your ******* list, you fascist f*cks!
I should not be "considered unfriendly," I am totally committed to putting each and every one of you right-wing f*cksticks in prison for the rest of your natural lives!
Unfriendly? You can kiss my powdered white ass, you little Hitlers! You are all going to rot in prison in the Hague for your war crimes and other crimes against humanity. You think you have power on your side, but in the long run, you are going DOWN, and you damn well know it.
So go ahead and try it, you brain-dead, moran-loving fascist right-wing assh*les. Come and get me and the other 7,999,999 on your list. A list I am PROUD to be on!
Remember, remember the 4th of November!
Just when one thinks the limit for paranoia has been reached, the primitives exceed it again.

Well, I'd be eminently satisfied if that list had only 5,000 names, the inhabitants of Skins's island.
Any enemies of decency and democracy and America out here in the real world, we can deal with.
But it's damned hard dealing with the tiny microscopic parasites boring at us from within.
