Title: So
Post by: Freeper on July 15, 2012, 10:21:58 AM
So my lovely wife got tickets to go see Peter Gabriel in Fairfax VA in October. He is a nutjob, but I have always loved his music both solo and with Genesis. I'm So excited. H-5 to anyone who gets the So pun, and it's not about bouncies.  :-)

He's okay, but I never did understand his nickname "The Boss".

I'm sure Christie would be welcomed with open arms.  :rotf:

I would love to see Peter Gabriel.

I don't care what someone political or religious belief is in music. If they are good I will listen to them. (Of course there are some people that I wish would just shut up)

I'm not too crazy about his newer music, but I really enjoy his older stuff, and I'm not talking about Sledgehammer.  :-)

Yeah, his stuff when he was with Genesis was pretty good also.

Yep it was weird and I loved it.  :-)

I'm a big fan of the guitarist, Steve Hackett who has had a solo career but most people don't even know who he is.  :-)

He's okay, but I never did understand his nickname "The Boss".

They say it goes back early in his career when he played with some small bands and he was in charge of collecting the pay and paying the band. I also heard it goes back to the early days of the E Street Band where he pretty much controlled everything and when anyone asked questions they'd say go ask "The Boss".

This is going to be a shock, but I have no doubt the majority of Bruce's fans in NJ are actually Republican.

That's fine LOL, but I think most people would never believe it.

I'd have a harder time buying that libs go to see Toby Keith, than conservatives liking Bruce.  :-)

So when you go see Peter Gabriel are you going to be subjected to a political speech? Bruce will spout off, people will boo loudly, boo not Bruuuuuuuce, then he'll go back to playing.

Also back in olden times Boss meant pretty much the same a pfatt (or whatever th hell it is now).  For example the Boss 302 Mustang.

Did you see what the authorities in London did, last night to Sir Paul and Bruce?  They cut the power to the amps at 10:15 PM.  Steve Van Zandt called Britian a "police state."

That's such a silly comment especially since London is getting ready for the Olympics.

I heard on the radio it was 10:40, 40 minutes past official curfew, but I see your point.

Must be nice to live in a country that'll let you know when it's time to go home. :whatever:

LOVE THAT ALBUM -- and yes, I have it on vinyl  :-)

I have several of his albums and CDs, one of my favorite singers.  And Genesis died as a band when he left (IMO).
