Freon Thefts On The Rise For Drug Use

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police say thieves climbed up a ladder of a local business and ransacked the three air conditioning units on the roof for scrap and the very dangerous gas Freon, which can cause a person to be high and kill them in the same breath.

It may cost tens of thousands of dollars to repair each air conditioning units that were broken into by the suspects.

Joe Kessler, owner of McDonald Heating and Air, said along with the copper and aluminum parts inside, they also got away with a Freon fix.

“It can get you delusional, like sniffing gasoline or paint, any toxic fumes,” said Kessler.

Kessler told CBS13 the company is seeing a spike in calls where their customer’s air conditioning unit is mysteriously out of Freon.

I'll wait for a review of Freon-12's effects . . . from Taverner. :loser:

Back in the day, I had an Armored Cav Troop. Had a little guy with "substance" problems.  One night, he got desperate & tried sniffing the chemicals workmen were using to lift asbestos tiles they were replacing. When I got to the barracks, there were two very large bleeding MPs sitting on him or rather, he was bouncing them up & down. When I went to the hospital the next morning to read him his rights, he was sitting in a chair unresponsive, sweating profusely and smiling.  The Doc told me not to bother with the formalities as we were looking at pretty much the rest of this dude's life.

Freon to get high? Some people will do anything I guess.

I've still got a few cans/bottles (don't know the correct term) of R12 that I haven't gotten around to giving vwrm. Can't imagine inhaling any of it or why you'd want to.

I love seeing the pics here of fried thieves trying to steal electricity.  We had one guy who used a huge screwdriver and stuck it in a box (there was a camera recording the whole thing)  that boy was crispy afterwards  :lmao:
