How would I petition to make First Tuesday of November a public holiday?
Before the edit, DUmbaberella wanted Nov 4th to be a holiday, then changed it to the first Tuesday in Nov., because so many DUmmies inquired as to the significance of the 4th. What is precious also is that even the original date of the 4th was wrong.
DUmbaberella, who is one of the DUmmies who is smarter (in their opinion)than the rest of us, must not realize that the first Tuesday in November is not ALWAYS the day chosen for general elections, but rather it is the First Tuesday after the First Monday.
Some days it is so easy to see their errors, one wonders why they don’t see them. How Nadinesque!

No. Make it any day after the first of the year and the day after you had to write a tax check to the IRS. ....and only for those that paid taxes. ...that would probably knock me out of a chance to vote this year but I'm sure y'all could cover my ass for me. :-)

Support might come easier if the proposal were accurate.

How about this. Set up a holiday, call it "Election Day" and make it the day AFTER the actual election.
Maybe give out free cookies at poll places.
There could be decorative paper ballots, that democrats can fill out and place in boxes. They won't count cause the election will be over, but it will filter out the stupid vote.

Our school district (along with many others) has made this a professional development day as schools are used as voting precincts here in MA. Kids being home from school usually means mom and dad are off work doing something with the kids.
It's all good. :)

Right, then you DUmpmonkeys would demand that Monday be a holiday, too.
That way you could have a nice four day weekend at your employers (if employed) expense.

Or be smashed or so full of drugs from the night before (since they have tomorrow off), that the day would see them by without them ever making it of their stupor.
Everybody knows most primitives can't see beyond their can of alcohol, hypodermic needle, or whatever else is their next fix.

10. I would write to your Senators and your Representative
Write via snail mail, not an email.
Make your best case with facts and your best logic.
If you write an excellent letter, you may get one of them to sponsor a bill. They might even
go to bat for it, instead of only introducing it.

Boy, would that be DUmb. All it would do is free up more Conservatives to vote more easily.
...and the Dummies would still be in the basement, hitting the bong, forgetting what day it is.

Just change Election Day to April 16th.
Problem solved.
After congress does away with all withholding and everyone has to write a check for the full amount. None of this "get back" stuff.
Then, people will understand their tax liability LOUD AND CLEAR!
