45,000 people die in the United States each year

Nearly 45,000 people die in the United States each year -- one every 12 minutes -- in large part because they lack health insurance and can not get good care, Harvard Medical School researchers found in an analysis released on Thursday. 45,000 U.S. deaths to lack of insurance every year
and comment on my blog article i wrote and share it thanks

The blog is one of the worst examples of writing I have ever read. The 'VRWC Nadin Doccuscore Rubric' rates this blog a .4 on a scale ranging from potato to Nadin. (In other words, really, really bad)

Here I present this Masterclass in writing, in its entirety, from the blog link contained in the DU post.

Quote from:  Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act AKA ObamaCare

On June 28th which will be marked in the history as a milestone for our country, a day when the supreme court in a 5-4 upheld the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This was meant with mixed feeling amongst the Democrats and Republicans. Presidential candidate Romney said he would repeal Obama Care on his first day in office. While Obama played it cool and didn’t say it is a party victory but a victory for the American people. While Romney’s threats make seem typical but he this time like many is lying through his teeth. Also for him to say he doesn’t like Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is ludacris. When he was governor in Massachusetts he passed a state run socialized health care plan. Also the people who wrote Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act said they got a lot of their material from Romney’s plan in Massachusetts.  Also there is no way he could overturn it as well since he doesn’t have the power as a president to do so. Also the part when it said there would be a penalty if you don’t buy health insurance it false in many ways since there has been no legislation on enforcement. And if you make less than 37,000 a year you would be covered and the penalty wouldn’t apply. Also this would save the US billions since the every other industrialized country has socialized healthcare.  The Commonwealth Fund study comparing the quality of the U.S. system with five other countries found that despite spending twice as much per capita, the U.S. ranks last or near last on basic performance measures of quality, access, efficiency, equity, and healthy lives.  In 2004 France’s average healthcare cost was 3500 a year while the USA is 6100. And 10.7 of the total GDP France are spent on Healthcare. While in the USA it is 16.5 and worse off than in France. This is due to the fact that insurance companies run the health care system care is based on if you can afford or not. Also Healthcare in America is expensive and lot of people end up in bankruptcy. Also a Harvard study showed that 45,000 people die every year based on the fact of not owning health insurance. This is person every twelve minutes. The Vietnam War lasted around twelve years and we lost around 60,000 troops in that time span. In twelve years we would lose half a million people due to not having accessible healthcare. While the European system isn’t perfect it’s better than the system we have in America. Whether you agree with it or not something need to be done and I’m in full support despite myself being fortunate enough to have healthcare. I think morally we have duty to help those less fortunate and to fix policies that are corrupted such as the United Stated of America way of providing healthcare.

More people than that die each year from stupidity, so what is his point?

It is estimated that every 15 minutes a gorilla dies from poaching/human encroachment.. That means from the time I read this post to the time I remembered this skit, to finding it on YouTube, to watching it to make sure it was the right sketch, at least two gorillas have died.

Really ?!? --- Now why would a liberal ever do something as deceptive, yet stupid as that ?not only complementing his own blog, but using a name so close to his DU handle as to make it obvious. Must of been a reich winger trying to discredit this poor kid....   :-)

Let's just apply a little logic to that emo-laden proposition, shall we?  Since everyone dies, even with all the best health care and heroic measures, wouldn't the same number of people die, just later?  So about two years down the road, we'd be reading how '45,000 additional people die each year despite the best health care in the world and sparing no expense to save them.'  So, resources not being unlimited to keep millions of people on life support machines as the intensive care patients pile up over the years, we end up with death panels.  So, The Tragedy Of Poverty Caused By Evil Conservatives and the Socialist Super-Nanny Cradle-To-Grave State ultimately end up at the same destination on this since neither human life span nor medical resources are unlimited.

Of course understanding that involves rational thought, basic economic knowledge, and the ability to think ahead, so it's probably over the heads of any lurking DUmmies.

"Obama promises to reduce the number of deaths by 3,000% to 90 thou a year."

Hey, it sounds like something the idiot would say and the DUmmies would buy to me.

Miskie, I read the first three and a half sentences of the blog, and my sensibilities were so offended, they exploded.

That was hilarious though, the ChristopherHolley comment.   :rotf: :lmao:

The thread seems to be missing.  Is this a new feature of DU3?

Lets change this around a little.  How many people with NO insurance survive medical emergencies each year.  Far more than die.  Do you think all these thug gang bangers that are capping each other every Friday night make sure they have health insurance before they load up the 9's?  Bet Not!

Yet, when they show up in the ER, with a couple of holes in them, after already using EMS resources, a highly trained team of docs, nurses and other support staff break out the greatest collection of medical technology and assets available in the world.

My guess, after the ACA is fully enacted, these pillars of society will still be without insurance.  Something tells me that filing a W-2 every year and checking the box certifying that they have insurance is long down on the list of priorities.

They don't care about the number of people who survive without it. That won't support their argument.

They also don't care about the number of people who WON'T survive with it!  They had "good intentions".   :mental:
