LAKEWOOD, Wash. —
A jogger suffered numerous scratches and wounds after she was attacked by a family of raccoons in Lakewood that may have been startled by her dog.
An animal control officer was called to a home near Fort Steilacoom Park at 1:30 p.m. Monday where medics were treating the woman for about 28 marks on her body that were a combination of scratches and about six bite wounds. ...

They can carry it for 8 months before having it. They can give birth, raise littles ones and pass it on to them. Rabies in 'coons is bad news.

Rabies or not, raccoons are very vicious animals. They should never be fed or kept as pets as it is illegal in many areas.

I had a 40 pound male 'coon for a house pet for 4 years. He was a trip... :-)
