Cops: Officer shoots, kills man who pointed gun at him
Source: Chicago Tribune
By Liam Ford
A Chicago police officer shot and killed a man who pointed a gun at him after the officer and his partner chased the man for a few blocks in the Greater Grand Crossing area this morning, police and a union spokesman said.
The shooting took place a little after 5 a.m. in the 500 block of West Winneconna Parkway, when a man pointed a gun at a Gresham District officer who then shot him, according to a news release from police.
The man was believed to be in his 20s, said Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7 spokesman Patrick Camden.
The Independent Police Review Authority was investigating a police-involved shooting at that location, but did not have details, a spokesman said. The Cook County medical examiner's office had been notified of a death there, but also did not have details.

I wonder how the cavers will react to this?
The union stands up for the officer "police and a union spokesman said", so they will now be pro union?

7. What cavers? what are you talking about?
hostile act. Hostile intent. If someone aims a firearm at you, you are damn foolish, if you have the capability, not to fire on him/her.
It's one of the basic 3, global, ever present rules of engagement for our military.
You'd rather the officers or bystanders get shot?

10. I have no problem with the officer defending himself!
I was pointing out to a certain crowd that the union is backing up the officer, as it should. That group loves guns and hates unions (and me )

I think this post is some sort of lame response to BD's epic tale of love, lust, triumph & defeats he is starring in.
I wonder how the cavers will react to this?I could care less what some paid union mouthpiece has to say, but I will congratulate the officer on removing one more Democratic voter from the gene pool.

With Steve's only comment being a reference to the Cave, one might get the idea that he is obsessed with it.
What was NOT surprising in the OP was that it was strictly cut/paste, with no additional commentary other than a reference to the Cave.
This is the type of Nadinesque Non Crunchy posts that has been his style recently. I am beginning to suspect that Nads/Steve are one entity (a rather large one). No one has ever seen a photo that includes both of them (necessitating a wide angle lens on the good rig.

I'm saddened by the fact that Big Steve thinks we hate him. I disagree with your political views Steve, but I love you as a person! You have brought me countless hours of free entertainment for the last several years. Keep it up dude.
I agree, Jake. If Omaha Steve didn't exist, it would have been necessary to invent him.
