What are the odds that the Repubs will win the Senate?
And if they do, how important is it that we have a Democratic President?
The Democrats have an uphill run. They have 23 open seats and the Repubs only have 10 so there is a very good chance the Repubs will win back the Senate. Very few expect the Democrats to take back the House. It doesn't take much imagination to envision the legislative agenda of the right-wing for the next two to four years. How important is it to have a Democratic President to keep them in check? Very.
Only one response...the DUmmies believe...and tremble.

The Republicans have got to win everything this November if we have any hope of reversing this debt fueled madness. The House, Senate, and the Oval Office. If Obama wins the Presidency again, he will just rule by decree and the GOP doesn't have the balls to stop him.

And let us not forget appointment of SCOTUS justices to replace likely soonest retirees Ginsburg and Breyer, not that having either Bush did us much good (Souter, Roberts). But we know have no hope there with Obama.

I'd definitely be happy with more judges like Justice Alito, although I'd rather have 9 just like Clarence Thomas. Given a chance, Thomas would help overturn the insane Wickard decision, if presented a new case in the same mold.

Damn, I so want to just allow myself to hope you're right. These days I feel like I can't allow myself hope. Or even to hope that, if you are right, we can stop this madness. I DO know we'll take the express train to Dante's ice plain if the Obama-monster is re-elected, so I suppose I can at least hope winning in Nov. can at least retard the process of the complete destruction of all our liberties.
Maybe I'm just too much of a downer. Sorry. I'll try to find a bright side to look on. I know no one likes a gloomy Gus.

One of the better be Janice Rogers Brown. Hope Romney is smart enough to choose him!

Cindie
...You wouldn't happen to know something about JRB that I don't, do you ? I know she shifted politically from liberal to conservative during her lifetime, but...

Although I know that Cindie had a typo on JRB's gender, I share her sentiment. Now, if she can be persuaded to accept the appointment.

I'm sure -- I'm just teasing her a bit for it :-)

I tend to feel that the Republicans will get the Oval Office, House, and Senate in November. With everything that is happening, and this being like 2010 all over again. It is quite possible. I have a strong faith that on November 7th we will be saying President Elect Romney (That is if obama's thousands of lawyers (working in pro boo) haven't already slapped the law suits down yet).
I tell you, I hope the defeat is so bad that Obama's minions dropping lawsuits wouldn't matter. God, let it worse than Jimmy Carters defeat.

Claire Bear Mckankles in MO will be gone, come 2013.
We know the open seat in NE is going to go red.
Thompson in WI is up by almost double digits against his opponent.
Tester was only treading water in the polls in MT before the Obumblecare ruling, but I don't think he'll make it.
Does anybody know anything about the races in FL, ND, or VA?

VA is a dead heat between George Allen and Tim Kaine.

Not unexpected, especially when the GOP candidate himself continues to defend Romneycare and now has started to call the Obamacare mandate a penalty rather than what the court decided was a tax.
I do not believe for a minute this jackass will allow himself to be dragged across the finish line.
