Title: Gag me: Mitt Romney's secret weapon: Wife Ann, and her lessons of MS
Post by: miskie on July 02, 2012, 07:59:36 AM
cali takes a swipe at Ann Romney and her "privileged life" - here, http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002890966 - and then weakens her point by doing something all primitives seem to do automatically, lie.

Gag me: Mitt Romney's secret weapon: Wife Ann, and her lessons of MS

By Susan Page, USA TODAY

SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Some Republicans see her as Mitt Romney's secret weapon, his wife of 43 years whose warmth and humor can make the sometimes awkward presidential contender come across less corporate and more human.

Ann Romney also has a story of her own to tell: Her 14-year battle with multiple sclerosis, an experience that first crushed her, then forced her to re-examine her priorities and sense of self — and in the process, she says, opened a window into the lives of those who face hardships of all sorts.

"It's really chiseled and shaped me, almost like a wine press would, or an olive press," she said in an interview with USA TODAY, sitting in the sun-splashed garden of an inn in California's Sonoma Valley, where she headlined a campaign fundraiser a few hours later. If her husband is elected in November — as she says she is certain he will be — that experience will help define her role in the White House. Her goal: "reaching out, giving people a helping hand" when they face troubles beyond their control.

Sickeningly glowing piece on this woman who has never earned a penny in her life from working, who has lived a life almost unimaginably privileged, who has really suffered no great tragedy such as losing a child. Yes, she has MS and I'm not saying that that can't be a challenge but this woman can in no way relate to those who suffer an illness with no financial resources. I've been on crutches for almost a year and because medicaid doesn't pay for crutches, I've had to super glue and duct tape them. (Finally after my last surgery the hospital gave me a new pair of crutches)

I made certain to get Vermont's chart as Medicaid does vary state to state.

Crutches?  They cost 25$ at Walgreen.

Also, why has she been on crutched for a year?  What ailment hasn't healed after a year?  Why hasn't she been moved to either a cane, a walker, or a wheelchair if for no other reason than to facilitate healing?

Indeed - and if by chance she reads this, and claims she misspoke and meant Medicare, the same document on the same page shows that Vermont Medicare also includes crutches.

Wait, losing a child is now a "great tragedy?"  What do they think abortion is all about?

While I don't know a lot about her, I have been liking what I've read about Mrs. Romney and she makes voting for Romney a bit easier.  It was one of the things I liked about President Bush, his wife was a genuine lady and brought class and dignity back to the White House.

I could see doing that with wooden crutches maybe, but do they even make them anymore?  I have a pair of crutches from about ten years ago and they are aluminum.

I think I have at least three or four pairs of aluminum crutches collected over the years. I threw out the old wooden ones long ago.

As far as I know, or as told by MSM, Brokeback and Moochelle Obama haven't had a tough life, you know. Niether one of them has ever had a job where any work has been required of them....Moochelle ain't worth $300,000.00+ a year in any job.

I actually was issued a pair at a military hospital after foot surgery on my last deployment, about four years ago.

One of my best friends dad died from MS. So any negative talk about it really upsets me. Those douchebags at the DUmp don't know a damn thing they are talking about. If this was Moochelle Obama with MS, they would be gathering around and having candle light ceremonies in her honor, and sending all kinds of cards and flowers to her. They are without a doubt the biggest hypocrites and most stupid people on the face of this earth.

cali, Ann Romney and her husband PAID for your crutches, you ungrateful asshole.  And to deny she had breast cancer as well, is despicable.  Hell, they are probably paying for your housing, your food, your dental work, your cellphone, while you rant about them on your high speed internet you pay for (I assume) because you have no other financial obligations other than your rent-a-center payment for your 52" TV.  You truly sicken me.

Remember, DUmmies lie, DUmmies lie all the time.  This is the same hypocritical bitch who's lying ended with her losing her job last year.  I wouldn't take anything it has to say without a grain of salt the size of the watermelon.

What gets me is, they love Michelle 0bama, she wears expensive clothes and lives it up on the tax payer dime, Anne Romney does not live it up on the taxpayer dime, yet she gets blasted for not living in a shack, and not being barefoot in the kitchen. As much as they hate conservative men, their hatred towards conservative women is 100 times greater.

Your right, it really comes down to the R or D after the name.  Anything with R is tacky, pampered and privileged.  Anything with D is pure, tasteful, and classy.  The primitives want me to worry more about what Romney does with his own money than their dear leader has done with our tax dollars.  They don't project much do they?

Yep it's a sin to live well off your own money, but living off the taxpayer is noble.

What is cali doing to the crutches that she breaks them?  If she's using Medicaid for her surgeries and DME then we're paying for it.  She's gotten the best care out money can buy, yet it's not enough.

She says she broke her tibia and fibula last September.  As I recall she crawled out of her house and into the road to flag down help.  Anyway, she's had at least two surgeries with titanium rods and metal plating since last year.

She posts screeds about SP and AM because she's literally brimming, like all DUmmies, with jealousy and hatred.  Her negativity runs her life.  She posts for sympathy, but can't manage to resemble anything human.  AFAIC cali is the poster child for liberalism as she exhibits every horrible trait of that peculiar mental disorder.

You know, I haven't worked outside the home for decades but to say I or Ann Romney haven't done any real work is a gross misunderstanding of what a homemaker and mother is. And one thing about the Romneys...I bet they didn't stress the system by using government money since they had enough of their own.

Of course, I suppose that whole breast cancer thing was just a breeze. It really pisses me off that the go after her for doing dressage for therapy. Horseback riding is known for helping people with many health problems. And there are plenty of families who have their children in dressage who are far from rich. They do it because their children have a passion for it (much like my son who we invested a small fortune in playing soccer only to have him turn down a scholarship and join the Marine Corps. That kid is DEFINITELY taking care of me when I'm old and senile).

If one of my kids had MS and dressage would help them, I'd scrimp and save and do whatever I needed to to make sure they got it. All over the world, regardless of the kind of government they have, there are poor people and rich people. I've never seen people as obsessed with other people's money as the DUmmies. Maybe if they'd stop whining and either start working hard and saving and sacrificing they might actually become one of those people making more than $250,000 or even in the 1%.

Or, they could simply learn to be content with where they are and realize the best things in life have nothing to do with income. Betcha even the one percenters would tell you that.

To get anywhere in life. You have to work for it. The DUmnies refuse to do that. They would just rather sit on their ass and collect the next welfare check while the ones who want to work for what they have do so for 60+ hours a week.
