Seems Obama's pitch-man is about as smart as the typical DUmmy.
Again, this question was answered by the liberal judges & Roberts in their majority opinion. Either the mandate is a tax, or its unconstitutional. There is no room for 'it doesn't matter what you call it' as this 'moran' claims.

I'm not sure that I can yet classify John Roberts as an evil genius because if he's done what so many people say he has done, it's a huge risk to take.
However, it's funny watching the DUmmies, liberals and the MSM dance around the word "tax."

I'm not either but, consider that the dems were planning a media & advertising blitz to sell "O" care but they are stuck arguing it is not a tax but a penalty. So, all the masses are hearing is tax & penalty.

I kinda like the sound of 'Tax penalty' in that context...

By the way, has anyone ever seen Rove & Roberts together?

There are always two of them. A master and an apprentice. Which one did we get ?

I'm not as in the know about this healthcare sham as I should be so I have a question that may sound dumb.
First, let me say that when I was 19 I paid for my own health insurance. At the time, I was working full time and going to college at night. I eventually got on with a company that had a group plan so I dropped my insurance and joined the group plan. When I left that company to start my own business I had the opportunity to continue the insurance coverage outside of the group; however, the monthly premiums would have been outrageous so I dropped it. Since then I have paid for every doctor visit, every medical test, every medication, and every hospital visit out of my own pocket. There have been a couple of occasions where I've had to work out a payment plan that spread the payment out over 12 months, but regardless, I paid the bill.
Please keep in mind that I do realize that it's best to have insurance, but when I was trying to grow this business I really didn't have the cash available for insurance. When I did finally get things to the level that I maybe could have afforded insurance the dems pulled the rug out from under the economy and almost destroyed me. Might still destroy me.
With all of that out of the way, if I'm understanding this sham correctly, I can either purchase insurance that I can not afford OR I can get taxed/penalized for paying my own bill. Is this correct?
If this is correct, is there other occasions in US history where you've been taxed/penalized for paying your bill?

Did the same. Finally at 40 I could afford the insurance....don't think I could now from what I hear. I'm on the wife's and mediacare now.

You have a point. The left likes to compare the mandate to auto insurance, which is a state by state issue, but leave that for the moment. I don't know about other states, but Illinois does require minimum coverage for car insurance, however there is a provision for people to proof that they have a certain amount of funds available to pay for damages and they don't have to have insurance. ObamaCare makes no provisions for that.
Bill gates would have to have insurance, even though he could buy any hospital or a chain of them if he wanted.
-
You are correct, even if you pay out of pocket, if you do not have an insurance policy you will have to pay the IRS (tax, penalty...whatever).
Remind me what the IRS does again.

Something like that line from 300: "This won't be over quick, and you won't like it."

According to Nancy Pelosi you were a free rider. :mental:
As usual with liberals, it's not enough that you pay your own way, but you must also pay other people's way in addition to your own. It's insanity.
