Title: Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian ( a brief review)
Post by: guest on May 19, 2008, 03:30:48 PM
I just returned from a rare trip to the movies.  These days,  I have quit going to movies due to the fact  none of the movies showing in the theatres now interest me in the least.  Except for one.

But I have been waiting patiently for this one, and it delivered everything that the original did, plus a little more.    I'm trying not to give too many details away, because I'd rather not spoil anything for those who have not seen it yet.   I really wish I'd re-read the book first, though.

However, I do have some criticisms regarding the film.  :(

There was far too much Matrix-style slow-motion action in the battle scenes (which were incredible, btw) which  caused it to be far more dramatic than it needed to be.

Plus, there was a character in the movie that I found rather irritating, because I felt they took away from the storyline.  I won't name the character, but those of you who may have seen already it know who I'm referring to.

I can't wait to see this.

It's well worth it.

If you are able to, go to a matinee showing.  I saved $2 that way (paid 7 bucks instead of 9 at a Regal Cinema).

Me too, I much as I hate it, I might have to go see it at the theater.

You remember the last movie I saw in a theater Jen ?  :-)

I had to laugh at the review from my 10 year old daughter's friend. My girl came home and said Abby watched Prince Caspian already and I asked her how it was and she goes, wide-eyed and amazed,"She said it had a lot of BLoooD" :lmao: :lmao:

I'll be taking her to see it when school slows down in about a week. Maybe I'll even take her to a packed house Memorial day showing just for the experience of it all. :-)

She just finished reading the book, btw.

I never expect films based on movies to be completely faithful to the source, but the liberties taken with Prince Caspian are disappointing.
