Can you actually be friends with any of today's Republicans?

I was an unaffiliated voter until Obama sought the Democratic Party's nomination. I had voted a split ticket attempting to vote for the best qualified candidate. My opinion concerning Republicans changed dramatically when they launched campaign to discredit President Clinton. I was further alienated when the Supreme Court selected Bush as president strictly on partisan lines totally destroying its credibility. We all know the extent of the destruction that resulted from that debacle. It was clear to me that the Republican Party had lost its true conservatism when McCain selected Palin a wholly unqualified person for his running mate. The attacks on President Obama have been scandalous. I have gotten to the point that at this stage of life with time running out that I just don't want to be bothered attempting any type of association with any Republican. I most especially avoid any discussion with working class Republican that I frankly consider to to imbeciles who actively assist in their own economic destruction. They are so asinine that they can't even grasp that they are condemning their own children to life of servitude.

Hey gramps it isn't us trying to saddle our grandchildren with a shit ton of debt, countless regulations and mandates, and leaving them a world where electricity is a luxury. That is the democrat platform.

Working class republicans.

I'm proud to be a working class republican.  My friends, family, and co-workers are all working class republicans.  How are we imbeciles?  We go to work every day, we support our families, we strive to be productive members of society.  We are not the ones sucking off the government teat.  We are not the ones pushing for more and more free stuff to the point that our governments are now broke.  You are the ones putting future generations in jeopardy, I'm scared to death raising a kid in this day and age knowing that there are probably going to be violent upheavals in this country in the near future.
That being said, thank you for not associating with me and my kind, saves us from the frustration of not being able to pound some sense into your thick skulls.

You know how we are imbeciles? We work for the man instead of getting the government to give us freebies. The DUmmies actually think this, they think that I am a fool for working my butt off for so-so pay, and not demanding that everything be free. I'd rather live paycheck to paycheck than to depend on the government taking money from people who work to give it to me.

9. There are a couple of old school

Republicans at the local watering hole. Even they can't believe how far off the map their party has wandered. One of them says he will be voting for Obama because he's afraid of what the Mittens will do to the country. Most of the discussions are pretty mellow.

Truth-o-meter says:  4 Pinocchios.

Why must they lie all of the time? I know some republicans who have a problem with the GOP, but it is because the party has moved too far to the left. These people may not like voting for Romney but would surely vote for Romney over 0bama.

He voted partial Republican in 2008 even though he was angry with the Supreme Court in 2000 because of Bush?

Hell, I'd think that there are far more Dems who are going to crossover than Republicans.

Bzzzzt !

Most Old-School Republicans would call Romney a RINO. Many of them supported other candidates during the primary. HOWEVER - for one of these Republicans to support Obama over Romney because of conservative values is a bit of a stretch.
