There is a missing detail in the Fast and Furious story
The whole reason that the ATF created this stupid program is that they have been way underfunded for a long time and are not able to do the kind of enforcement they need. And why is that? Because of pressure from the NRA to keep their efforts to a minimum!! Yes, the same NRA that is screaming for Holder to be found in contempt, and pressuring congress about it, has been the force behind the underfunding of the ATF in the first place.

I guess blaming Bush wasn't working, so now F and F is the NRA's fault. :rotf:

There is no valid excuse for a Federal Law Enforcement Agency to break the law. Ever.
It's perfectly fine for you to be sore at the NRA. I'm not a member, so I have no dog in that fight, but the actions of ATF agents are the responsibility of the ATF hierarchy, and ultimately, the Justice Department and the President. Responsibility for funding the ATF sits with Congress. The NRA and every other NGO and lobbying group that might have opined on ATF funding don't get to make the final decisions.
Trying to pass the buck on the Fast & Furious scandal will help no one. It was not a lack of funds that caused the problem: gun store owners were ready to stop sales when they believed that the buyers were straw purchasers. Yet in those cases, the ATF told the gun store owners to GO AHEAD WITH THE SALES (i.e.- break the law) despite the fact that the ATF had no plan in place to track those guns. This is ****ed-up.

4. political witch hunt...
no hearings with the ATF guys in AZ that did it?
I wonder why
but Issa refuses because then he would have to blame the right people and not the two black guys he's really after.
Maybe if Holder had been more forthcoming with the info requested we would be talking about the ATF guys in AZ instead of Holder.

5. I'm underfunded too.
Can I break the law too?
If you are 0bama, you only have to follow laws that you like.

Sending hundreds of untraceable guns into the hands of drug cartels without the Mexican government knowing...whatever could go wrong? :whatever:

Why did it take this contempt vote tomorrow for you bitches to even mention F&F? You people don't give a shit what Obama does as long as he is your "whore". You people are pathetic.

They don't give a damn about F and F, if this was a repuke admin with a repuke AG then they would be the first ones screaming for impeachment. The only thing they care about is how it affects their preezy.

Hey, that sounds like a great reason to purposely violate several of the most rigid and demanding statutes they were charged with enforcing, like the NFA and GCA 68, by actively participating in a conspiracy to illegally transfer hundreds of firearms and NFA 'destructive devices' not just within the US, but in violation of other laws and treaties into a foreign country where a couple of hundred foreign citizens were killed as a direct result of their criminal conduct!
:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Because they thought those of us that believed F&F was a serious offence/crime were just an offshoot of the Birthers.
It took the President invoking EP ...on something that up to that point had been blown off as nothing more than a regional office and lower level of the administration problem...for the Libtards to say "wait...what's going on here".
But even then...they have been faithfully parroting the WH talking points.

Here's the missing detail. The big difference between President Bush's program, which was called Wide Receiver, and obama's Fast and Furious is that President Bush had the approval of the Mexican Government. obama ran a covert operation that ended up with a Border Patrol agent getting killed.
They were two completely different programs with different agendas. President Bush wanted to track guns traced to Mexican drug crimes while obama wanted to cast guns in a negative light to enact gun control in the US.

Of course, there was that pesky line item in the Porkulus bill that read:
Operation Fast and Furious----$10,000,000.00
That should be pretty good funding for the operation.

Because Holder has refused to let them testify even though a couple of them were willing to. Also, Holder has fired whistleblowers, and promoted people to aid in the coverup.

There's a couple of de-tails that need kicking out of office and then put in prison.
