Two-Thirds of Americans Think Barack Obama Is Better Suited to Handle an Alien Invasion Than Mitt
WASHINGTON, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- According to a new U.S. extraterrestrial survey from National Geographic Channel (NGC), more than 80 million Americans are certain that UFOs exist. In fact, many believe in tangible proof that aliens have landed on Earth and think that government officials are involved in covering up paranormal activities. Moreover, most citizens would not mind a minor alien invasion, because they expect these space-age visitors to be friendly—like the lovable character depicted in Steven Spielberg's popular film "E.T."
Survey results also reveal that more than one-third (36%) of Americans believe UFOs exist. More than one in 10 (11%) are confident that they have spotted a UFO, and one in five (20%) know someone who claims to have seen one.
- Despite the popularity of "Avengers" and "Twilight," more than seven in 10 (71%) Americans think that aliens are more likely to exist than are superheroes, vampires and zombies. Furthermore, if aliens attacked our planet, more than one in five (21%) would most likely call on the Hulk to deal with the havoc. Far fewer would most trust Batman (12%) or Spiderman (8%) to step in.
- In regards to national security, nearly two-thirds (65%) of Americans think Barack Obama would be better suited than fellow presidential candidate Mitt Romney to handle an alien invasion. In fact, more than two in three (68%) women say that Obama would be more adept at dealing with an alien invasion than Romney, vs. 61 percent of men. And more younger citizens, ages 18 to 64 years, than those aged 65+ (68% vs. 50%) think Romney would not be as well-suited as Obama to handle an alien invasion.

There is a type of safeguard with having Obama as prez. If aliens were to arrive and say "Take us to your leader," upon meeting Obama they'd count our world too stupid to be bothered with and leave.

I think this is because an alien invasion is a fictional concept that more aptly expresses 0bama's fictional nature.
I mean, I never saw that movie where a black President saved the world from a meteor strike but isn't that pretty much what 0bama promised to do? Isn't that the POTUS 0bama promised to be?
Of course, "alien invasion" could simply be a dog whistle for "Kenyan moslem taking over the White House."

There's this great story by Fred Brown, I think, where aliens abduct a monkey from the Milwaukee County zoo and decide they are too stupid and too unruly to make a proper slave race and so the aliens leave.

I think some think-tank or super computer when given the problem of an alien invasion came up with unconditional surrender, so for that 0bama would be well suited.

I heard some of the other findings on Fox this morning, it was pretty clear that a majority of the respondents thought so too and just gave the most off-the-wall responses they could.

Not yet the end, I think that was. Brown was very good at the short, short story.
What's funnier about that story is the "media" decides to run a story about a convention instead of the missing monkeys, never knowing just how important the monkey story really was to mankind.
Anyway, back on topic, this might just be the dumbest survey I've ever heard of.

I actually encountered a question like that once from an Air Force Captain of all things. It amounted to "What would we be able to do in the event a Starship like the Enterprise shows up and demands our surrender?"
My answer, "I would recommend immediate surrender followed by quickly and quietly dispersing every physicist, engineer, and technician. We should have stolen enough tech in three or four years to make them miserable."
Essentially, the same answer Haji came up with regarding us.

Hey that sounds like an old episode of "The Night Gallery". I believe it was Betty Davis playing the lead. She was a rich old, blind, bitch with a lot of art work she couldn't see. She "bought" some poor souls eyes for a transplant. The problem was that she'd only be able to see for a few hours before going blind again. So she got the operation and didn't want anyone around while see enjoyed looking at her works of art. The wrappings came off after dark and she was able to see well. She ran everyone out and sat down amongst her works of art.....and the lights went out. They had had a citywide power failure. When the power came back on about daylight she went blind before getting to see her art.
